The Longines Master Collection Annual Calendar was announced in 2018 with a launch retail price of €1,940 for three versions—not a verified price today. Fratello’s hands-on review describes a 40 mm watch with calibre L897.2 and a calendar that needs correction once a year, after February. Its silver-dial reference is L2.910.4.78.3; the blue-dial bracelet version is L2.910.4.92.6.
Was the Longines Master Collection Annual Calendar under €2,000?
At launch, yes: Robert-Jan Broer’s 2018 Fratello article reported a retail price of €1,940 for three variants. It listed the diamond-index version at €2,260. Those are historical launch prices, not current prices or evidence that the references remain available. Fratello’s July 2, 2018 hands-on review is the source for both figures.

Longines’ 2021 collection overview includes annual calendars among the collection’s mechanical complications. A later announcement from Swatch Group describes a redesigned Master Collection, but does not say whether these earlier annual-calendar references are still sold. The August 26, 2026 announcement therefore cannot confirm current availability or pricing for the watch discussed here.
What does the annual calendar do?
An annual calendar displays the month and date and adjusts for months of different lengths during the year. It needs one manual correction after February, when the calendar must account for whether February had 28 or 29 days. That yearly adjustment distinguishes it from a perpetual calendar, which is designed to account for leap years without the same annual correction.

What are the watch’s size and movement specifications?
Fratello’s 2018 review describes a 40 mm case and identifies the movement as Longines calibre L897.2, based on ETA A31.L81. The article reports a 64-hour power reserve and a frequency of 25,200 vibrations per hour. These are specifications reported in that review; they should not be taken as confirmation of current product documentation or current availability.
Which references and dial versions did the review cover?
The review describes four executions: silver dial with Arabic numerals, black dial with Roman numerals, blue dial with baton markers, and a diamond-index version. It names L2.910.4.78.3 for its silver-dial example and L2.910.4.92.6 for the blue dial on a stainless-steel bracelet. The review’s launch prices were €1,940 for three versions and €2,260 for the diamond-index model; it does not provide a current price comparison for each reference.

What to check before buying one now
Because the launch prices are from 2018 and the later collection announcement does not establish whether these references remain on sale, check a current listing rather than relying on the old “under €2,000” claim. Confirm the exact reference, whether it is new or pre-owned, the seller’s authorization and the watch’s authenticity. For a like-for-like comparison, also check case size, calendar complication, power reserve, warranty and access to servicing.
