Longines’ international warranty generally runs for 24 months, with five years for qualifying mechanical watches purchased from January 1, 2021; water-resistance markings describe pressure ratings, not an unconditional promise for every activity or watch condition.
How often should a Longines watch be serviced?
Longines recommends that water-resistance be checked once a year by an approved service centre. That is not the same as a universal recommendation to have every watch receive a full maintenance service annually. The official FAQ raises the question of maintenance-service frequency, but does not provide an answer on the page; use the manual for your model and ask an approved service centre about its service timing.

Where can you send a Longines watch for service or repair?
Longines directs owners to an official dealer or an approved Longines Service Centre for repairs, adjustments, and servicing. Check Longines’ regional service page or service-centre locator for current local instructions. A prepaid shipping option published for Switzerland is limited to individuals in Switzerland and should not be treated as a worldwide route.

What is excluded?
The listed exclusions include battery life, normal wear and tear, and damage caused by improper use, neglect, or accidents. The warranty also excludes watches handled by a non-approved person for battery replacement, servicing, or repair. Read the full terms and keep the completed certificate; the manufacturer warranty is separate from a seller’s warranty and does not displace statutory rights.
Is service work covered separately?
Longines states that servicing operations carry a 24-month warranty on the work performed. Its stated limits exclude normal wear and damage from accidents or lack of care, and work by unauthorized parties voids that service warranty.

What is included in partial and full service?
Longines’ comparison lists assessment and identification, case and movement separation, case-and-bracelet cleaning, movement assembly, aesthetic and rate controls, a water-tightness control when applicable, and a 24-month warranty on work for both service levels. Quartz service includes battery replacement; both descriptions include case reassembly with parts exchanged if needed to guarantee water-resistance.
Rank #3
Full service additionally lists case disassembly, polishing when applicable, movement disassembly or replacement, cleaning of movement components, reassembly and oiling, and replacement of worn spare parts. Ask the service centre to explain which work applies and whether parts will add to the published amount.

Check the marking on your watch’s case back and its own manual. Longines’ instruction manual gives these pressure-rating equivalents under ISO 22810:
| Case-back marking | Stated equivalent |
|---|---|
| No water-resistance marking | Not water-resistant |
| 3 bar | 30 metres |
| 5 bar | 50 metres |
| 10 bar | 100 metres |
| 30 bar | 300 metres |
The metre figures correspond to overpressure applied under ISO 22810. They are pressure-rating equivalents, not a blanket guarantee that a watch can be used at that depth or in every water activity. The exact reference and the watch’s condition matter. For example, Longines’ US product page lists the HYDROCONQUEST L3.784.4.56.9 at 30 bar; that rating does not establish the rating of other Longines models or other HydroConquest references.
How should you protect a Longines watch around water?
- Have water-resistance checked once a year by an approved Longines Service Centre.
- Before immersion, ensure the crown and pushers are pushed in or screwed down, as applicable.
- Do not operate the crown or pushers underwater.
- Rinse the watch with fresh water after contact with seawater.
- Do not open the watch yourself; take it to an approved service centre.
Longines cautions that water-resistance can be affected by gaskets drying out or an accidental impact on the crown. A rating therefore should not be relied on without regard to the watch’s condition.
