Which Marathon Desert Tan Navigator is this?
The reference to look for is WW194013DT-0210. It is the desert-tan, date-equipped NAV-D, not the black NAV-D, CeraShell NAV-D, steel Navigator or no-date Navigator. Marathon describes the NAV-D as “a navigator that has been modified from the standard issue version,” with a red-tipped seconds hand and date window at 4:30. Marathon’s exact-model listing is the primary reference for the specifications below.

Marathon’s European product page gives the case thickness as 11 mm. A regional Australian distributor lists 13 mm for a similar desert-tan date watch, so that figure should not be combined with the manufacturer’s specification for this reference. The same distributor gives 60 m / 6 ATM water resistance; Marathon’s own page states 6 ATM submersibility. The distributor listing also presents dark-tan leather as an option, while the manufacturer lists nylon strap choices.
What the design and features mean
Quartz movement and date
The FØ6 is an ETA High-Torque quartz movement, with three jewels according to Marathon. The date display distinguishes this NAV-D from the no-date Navigator; its position at 4:30 and the red-tipped seconds hand are specific identifying details of the date model.

Tritium and sapphire
Marathon specifies tritium gas tubes for illumination and a sapphire crystal. The manufacturer highlights continuously glowing tritium as a feature of the Navigator series. These are maker-stated design characteristics, not an independent assessment of nighttime visibility, scratch resistance or performance in a particular environment.
Case, bezel and fit
The 41 mm case is made from matte-finished high-impact composite Fibreshell. Its 48 mm lug-to-lug measurement and 20 mm lug width help distinguish it from other Navigator variants and are useful when judging fit or choosing a replacement strap. The bidirectional bezel has a 12-hour scale, which Marathon describes as useful for tracking a second time zone.

Origin and intended use
Marathon says the Navigator series was developed in partnership with Kelly Air Force Base in 1986. The maker positions the series for high-altitude flight, citing features such as the sapphire crystal, tritium illumination and bidirectional bezel. This is Marathon’s account of the series’ history and intended use, not independent verification of a particular watch’s performance on a mission. Marathon’s black NAV-D page provides additional series context, but it is not the specification source for the desert-tan reference.
Is 6 ATM enough for swimming?
Marathon rates this exact model at 6 ATM submersibility. That rating is a stated pressure specification; it does not by itself establish a guarantee for swimming or any other specific activity. Follow Marathon’s guidance for the watch and have the crown fully secured as directed before exposing it to water. Do not treat a rating for another Navigator model as proof of this reference’s suitability.
