The defining display is a Northern Hemisphere map disc that completes one revolution every 24 hours. Citizen says it indicates approximate time in major Northern Hemisphere cities. It works alongside, rather than replacing, the watch’s separate radio-controlled timekeeping function.

The disc provides a visual world-time reference by showing the approximate time at major Northern Hemisphere cities as it turns through the day. It is not a GPS system and should not be understood as automatically setting every local time: the city-time reading requires interpretation from the display.

Radio-controlled timekeeping
For the US-listed BY3006-53H, Citizen specifies atomic timekeeping synchronized in 26 time zones. That synchronization feature is separate from reading the rotating map disc. The same product page describes a slide-rule bezel and luminous display. Its Global page also describes large hands and luminescent indexes, and says the case tapers conically to make the large watch feel lighter and thinner. Those are Citizen’s design descriptions, not independent findings about comfort or legibility.

BY3005-56E: the limited-edition dial
Citizen US identifies BY3005-56E as a limited edition. The company says the dial takes inspiration from geological layers of Earth’s crust and uses recycled materials with structural color ink developed by FUJIFILM Corp. Its listed specifications include an H864 Eco-Drive movement, 46 mm case width, 22 mm lug width, gray stainless-steel case and bracelet, anti-reflective sapphire crystal, 200 m water resistance, atomic timekeeping across 26 time zones and the map-disc world-time display. Citizen Global lists BY3005-56G as a Geo Trekker color variant, but that reference should not be confused with the limited-edition BY3005-56E. The available official listings do not establish that the two share the same edition status or dial configuration.
