Halios is Canadian in its Vancouver roots and final quality-control work, not because every component or production step takes place in Canada. Founder Jason Lim says the independent watch brand began in online dive-watch forums in 2009; Halios says its manufacturing partners span Asia, Switzerland, Germany and the United States, with final QC and testing in Vancouver.
What makes Halios different?
Halios pairs an enthusiast-forum origin with a distributed production network and a defined Canadian finishing role. On its About page, signed by founder Jason Lim, the company describes its start in online dive-watch forums in 2009 and says: “Our manufacturing partners are based in Asia, Switzerland, Germany and the US, with final QC and testing taking place in Vancouver, Canada.”
That distinction matters: “Canadian” here refers to the brand’s Vancouver connection and final quality control and testing, not to a claim that the watches are wholly manufactured in Canada. Halios also says movements are typically sourced from Japan or Switzerland, depending on the model and market availability.
Where are Halios watches made?
Halios identifies partner manufacturing locations across Asia, Switzerland, Germany and the United States, while locating final QC and testing in Vancouver. The company does not specify which individual components or production operations come from each location on its About page, so it is not possible to assign a particular country to a particular watch component from that account alone.

For the Seaforth IV specifically, Halios says the watch will be assembled and tested in Vancouver and shipped from there. This is compatible with the broader international-partner description: Vancouver is the stated site for final assembly and testing for this model, rather than evidence that all manufacturing occurs in Canada.
Which Halios watches are listed now?
As observed on October 8, 2026, Halios’s official collections page listed three collections: Seaforth IV, Universa II and Universa II Vitreous Enamel. The page said the Seaforth IV December/January preorder batch was closed and that Universa II ordering had not yet opened. These are live-site status statements and may change; check the official page for current availability.

The available information establishes the collection names and ordering status, but not a complete set of current, comparable specifications. It therefore does not support a reliable model-by-model comparison of dimensions, movement, water resistance or price.
Can you buy a Seaforth IV now?
Halios’s collection-page notice, checked October 8, 2026, said the December/January Seaforth IV preorder batch was closed. Its Seaforth IV preorder FAQ estimated delivery around late December 2026 or early January 2027. Since the preorder batch was marked closed, that estimate describes the batch referenced by the FAQ, not a promise of immediate availability or a current delivery date for any later order.

The FAQ also says the full amount is charged when ordering, preorders can be cancelled at any time without penalty, and duties, taxes and additional customs charges are not included. It states that the Seaforth IV will be assembled and tested in Vancouver and shipped from Vancouver. Check the FAQ and collection page before making a purchase, as both timing and order status can change.

A separate historical source is Worn & Wound’s Podcast Ep. 46 with Jason Lim, published January 10, 2018. Its description says the conversation covered Lim’s brand, how he got started and what lay ahead; the show notes mention a Seaforth GMT and a Bahama Yellow Seaforth with sapphire bezel. That dated interview provides background, but it should not be treated as the contents of the Micro Mondays item.
