Choose this reference if you want the leather-strap presentation. Its 20 mm lug width gives a starting point when checking replacement straps, but attachment shape and fit still need to be confirmed for the specific strap. Hamilton describes the hands as having beige vintage-style Super-LumiNova; that is manufacturer wording, not a comparative lume test.

How to make the comparison once you have the Mido reference
- Match the exact model. Record the Mido reference and confirm that it is actually a 38 mm black-dial Ocean Star.
- Compare fit measurements. Check diameter, thickness, lug-to-lug length, and lug width. A shared 38 mm diameter alone does not show which watch will wear smaller.
- Compare function and construction. Verify water-resistance rating, whether a timing bezel is present and how it operates, crystal type, movement, reserve, and date display on both exact references.
- Compare wear and ownership details. Check bracelet or strap construction and adjustment, warranty and service terms, and local prices for the two configurations you would actually buy.
