MING 17.09 is a watch reference associated with a Burgundy original and subsequent MING x Massena LAB collaboration editions in black and honey. The collaboration was announced in May 2021. Calling the watch “new” without identifying an edition or date can therefore be misleading: the available records describe those earlier watches, not a 2026 launch.
The distinction matters most when comparing movements and prices. Massena LAB’s current product page describes its black collaboration edition; auction catalogs record Burgundy and Honey examples, but are not current retail listings or complete manufacturer specification sheets.

How the Burgundy, Black and Honey editions differ
The available records identify the editions but do not provide a complete, equivalent specification set for all three. In particular, the black edition’s detailed movement and water-resistance figures should not be transferred to the Burgundy or Honey versions.

Phillips’ auction catalogs document examples of the Burgundy and Honey watches, supporting the existence of those variants and their historical auction appearances. They do not establish present market value. See the 2022 Phillips catalog and the 2023 Phillips catalog.
Movement naming varies between descriptions: Massena LAB calls the black edition’s movement 330.M1 based on Sellita SW330-2, while Phillips describes the Honey example as Schwarz-Etienne 300.M1. Those are source-specific descriptions and should not be silently treated as the same caliber.

Production and price: what the figures mean
Hodinkee Japan reported that the 2021 collaboration comprised 200 numbered watches: 150 black and 50 honey. Its May 18, 2021 report gave launch prices of $2,595 for black and $2,795 for honey, with sale scheduled for May 20, 2021. These are historical launch prices, not current quotations.
Separately, Massena LAB’s black-edition product page lists $2,595 and marks the watch out of stock. That page is edition-specific; it does not establish the current price or availability of the Burgundy original. - For the clearest published specifications: the black MING x Massena LAB edition has the most detailed product listing, including movement basis, independent hour-hand adjustment and 100m water resistance.
- For the original Burgundy design: confirm that a listing explicitly identifies the Burgundy edition. The collaboration’s price and full specification set are not a substitute for Burgundy-specific details.
- For the Honey collaboration: verify the exact movement description and edition with the seller. The auction catalog and launch report establish historical examples and production figures, not current availability or value.
Before relying on a listing, check the dial color and edition name, movement description, condition, included strap and whether the price is an actual current offer. Auction records can help identify an example, but they are not proof of what a watch should sell for today.
