Mobvoi announced the TicWatch Atlas on October 16, 2024, as a rugged Wear OS smartwatch with sapphire crystal, a dual-display design and a claimed battery life of up to 90 hours in Smart Mode. It launched at $349.99 in the U.S. The Atlas is best understood as an adventure-focused redesign of the TicWatch Pro 5 Enduro formula, not a major new hardware generation.
What the TicWatch Atlas is—and what it changes
Mobvoi positioned the Atlas as its “most rugged” smartwatch. Under its new exterior, however, it retains much of the Pro 5 Enduro’s core recipe: Qualcomm’s Snapdragon W5+ Gen 1 platform, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, a 628mAh battery and Mobvoi’s dual-display approach. The Atlas adds a more overtly outdoor design and emphasizes features such as Heat Map, fall detection and emergency SOS. That makes it a distinct model, but not an obvious performance upgrade for existing Enduro owners. NextPit’s launch comparison likewise describes the close relationship between the watches.
The Atlas runs Wear OS 4. Its 1.43-inch AMOLED panel has a 466 × 466 resolution and 326 pixels per inch, alongside an ultra-low-power display. Other listed specifications include Bluetooth 5.2, 2.4GHz Wi-Fi, NFC for Google Wallet where available, and satellite positioning across GPS, BeiDou, GLONASS, Galileo and QZSS. The listed sensors include heart rate, blood oxygen, skin temperature, barometer, compass, accelerometer, gyroscope and an off-body sensor. Mobvoi lists these details on its regional product page; service and feature availability can vary by country.
A tougher case, with important limits
The Atlas has a sand-blasted stainless-steel look, with 7000-series aluminum and high-strength nylon reinforced with fiberglass in its case construction. The display is protected by sapphire crystal. Mobvoi lists dimensions of 52.2 × 47.8 × 12.05mm and a weight of 47.2g without the strap; the interchangeable fluororubber strap is 24mm wide. This is a substantial watch, so its 52.2mm width is worth considering if you prefer a compact fit.

Mobvoi specifies 5ATM water resistance, open-water swimming suitability and a MIL-STD-810H durability claim. Those terms are not a guarantee that the watch is indestructible or suitable for every water activity. Mobvoi says it is not intended for scuba diving, deep-water use, water skiing, high-speed water activities, hot water, showers, soap or detergents. Treat the rating as bounded water resistance, not as “waterproof.”
Battery life depends on which display mode you use
In ordinary smartwatch use, the AMOLED screen supports apps, notifications, maps and workouts. The low-power display is designed to show essential information while extending endurance, but it does not provide the full Wear OS experience. Mobvoi estimates up to 90 hours in Smart Mode and up to 45 days in Essential Mode; it also claims that a 30-minute charge can provide about two days of use. These are manufacturer figures, not guaranteed runtimes, and the longest estimate applies to a more limited mode. Mobvoi’s product page gives the mode-specific claims.
Independent results illustrate how much activity can affect runtime. In one Tech Advisor test, GPS use for more than an hour consumed about 20% of the battery—an observed result that would imply roughly four to five hours of continuous tracking under that reviewer’s test pattern, not a universal GPS-runtime estimate. The review also raised concerns about GPS responsiveness and aspects of sleep and blood-oxygen tracking, while finding the watch’s battery advantage useful. Outdoor tools and safety features
The Atlas combines built-in multi-system satellite positioning with a compass and barometer for location, direction and altitude-related readings. Mobvoi lists more than 100 workout modes—its marketing materials also use the more specific “110+” figure—and automatic detection through TicMotion for outdoor walking, running and cycling. Other listed fitness features include VO2 Max estimates, recovery time, heart-rate-zone backlights and Heat Map for selected field and court sports. A high mode count describes available profiles; it does not by itself establish tracking accuracy or the depth of training analysis.
Mobvoi also advertises fall detection and emergency SOS with location sharing. These tools have practical dependencies: emergency contacts must be configured, network connectivity is required, and the paired phone may need to be nearby and connected. Detection can fail, so the watch should not be treated as a dedicated satellite communicator or emergency beacon. The same qualification applies to health tools: heart-rate, blood-oxygen, sleep, snoring and supported-region irregular-heartbeat tracking are wellness features, not medical diagnoses. Wear OS 4 brings apps, but not a clear update promise
Wear OS gives the Atlas access to Google apps and services such as Maps, Wallet and the Play Store, subject to regional availability and setup requirements. It launched with Wear OS 4, and later reviews criticized the software’s age; no confirmed timetable for a newer Wear OS release has been published. Buyers who expect a stated long-term update policy should not assume one. Reviewers also identified Google Assistant support as missing.

Mobvoi’s listed phone requirement is Android 8.0 or later, with exclusions for Android Go and phones without the required Google Play services. There is no official iOS compatibility and no LTE/cellular model. That rules out iPhone pairing and means calls or connectivity away from the phone are constrained by the watch’s available Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connections.

The Atlas is therefore a design-and-feature refresh rather than a compelling speed or capability jump for Enduro owners. The Enduro’s value depends on its actual current price and availability, which should be checked in the buyer’s country.

The launch price was $349.99 in the United States, as reported in contemporary coverage by Android Authority. That is a historical launch MSRP, not a statement of today’s street price. Availability is market-specific and can change: Mobvoi’s regional product page listed the product as out of stock. Check the relevant country store for live stock, price, shipping and warranty terms before buying.

Who should consider the Atlas?
Android users who want a rugged Wear OS watch
The Atlas makes most sense for Android owners who value sapphire protection, a large case, Google apps and a battery design that can stretch beyond a typical daily-charge smartwatch. Hikers, runners, cyclists and swimmers may appreciate its outdoor sensors and workout options, provided its limits and tracking trade-offs suit their needs.
Existing Pro 5 Enduro owners
For Enduro owners, the case for upgrading is primarily the Atlas’s different exterior and its stronger emphasis on fall detection, SOS and outdoor presentation. Similar core hardware makes it difficult to justify as a general performance upgrade.
Buyers who should look elsewhere
- iPhone owners: the Atlas has no official iOS compatibility.
- People who need phone-independent connectivity: there is no LTE version.
- Buyers prioritizing long-term software support: Wear OS 4 is the launch platform, and a confirmed upgrade timetable is not established.
- Serious endurance athletes: the Atlas lacks dual-frequency GPS and the deeper endurance-training tools some dedicated sports watches offer.
- Anyone seeking a compact watch: the 52.2mm-wide case is large.
At or near its original $349.99 U.S. price, the Atlas is harder to recommend without a clear discount, especially if a newer or better-supported alternative is similarly priced. Its strongest case is a substantially reduced price for an Android user who specifically wants this rugged design and dual-display battery approach.

Set up and water-use notes
Pairing an Atlas after another TicWatch
Mobvoi’s setup guidance for users moving from an older TicWatch is to remove the old watch from the Wear OS app and the phone’s Bluetooth settings, delete the old Wear OS and Mobvoi apps, install Mobvoi Health from Google Play, then pair the Atlas through Mobvoi Health. The phone must meet Mobvoi’s Android and Google Play services requirements.
Using it around water
Follow Mobvoi’s stated 5ATM and open-water-swimming conditions rather than treating the Atlas as suitable for every aquatic activity. Avoid the excluded uses and exposures described above; water resistance does not remove those limits.
