Montjuïc Speed is a motorsport-styled collection, not one watch with a single set of specifications. Its branches include time-only mecaquartz models, a 60-minute chronograph and an automatic model. The examples below show how their movements, size, water-resistance ratings and design details differ; the specifications and water-resistance ratings are those published by Montjuïc, not independently tested results.
What is a Montjuïc Speed watch?
Montjuïc’s catalog lists Speed, Speed GMT, Speed Chrono and Speed Automatic families. The brand says its watches are designed in Barcelona and manufactured in Japan. It also reserves the right to change specifications without notice, so check the live page for the exact model before buying. Montjuïc official catalog
Motorsport is the collection’s design language. Montjuïc describes the Speed Automatic as drawing inspiration from endurance cars, 1980s rallies and 500cc motorcycles; it says the model’s grooved case evokes a piston and its knurled controls resemble gearbox gears. These are the brand’s stated inspirations, not evidence that the watches reproduce a particular historic racing timepiece. Montjuïc Speed Automatic

Which Speed model fits your priorities?
Speed Rally Costa Brava: event-linked, time-only
Montjuïc calls this the official watch of the Rally Costa Brava. Its black dial has orange accents and the rally logo, while the bezel is divided into two-hour blocks. The 43 mm case is listed at 10.5 mm high, with a 20 mm silicone band and a listed weight of 120 g. The page gives five strap colors: orange, black, blue, red or white. Its listed €395 price and 100 m water resistance apply to this model, not every Speed watch. Speed Rally Costa Brava
Speed Special Blue White GT SS: color-led and lighter on paper
The brand says its blue-and-white stripes reference a motorsport color associated with the Ford GT and F1 teams including Williams and Tyrrell. The listed weight is 96 g. Montjuïc specifies a two-year battery life and accuracy of -10/+15 seconds per month for this VH31A model; those are manufacturer-published figures, not independent measurements. Its 50 m rating is lower than the 100 m figures published for the cited Costa Brava and Chrono examples. Speed Special Blue White GT SS

The listed features also include luminous hands, a 24-hour subdial, a rotating inner bezel and curved sapphire crystal with double anti-reflective treatment. The cited page does not establish dimensions, water resistance or price for this model, so compare the exact variant’s live listing rather than assuming Chrono or time-only specifications carry over. Movement, size and water resistance: what to check
- Movement and function: The two cited time-only watches use the TMI/Seiko Group VH31A mecaquartz movement. Chrono models use Japanese mecaquartz and add a 60-minute timer; the Automatic uses a modified Miyota-Citizen-based automatic movement.
- Case size: The cited time-only examples are 43 mm across, while the Chrono category is 45 mm. Case diameter alone does not determine wrist fit; the available official specifications here do not provide a comparable lug-to-lug measurement for these examples.
- Water resistance: The cited Special Blue White GT SS is rated 50 m; the Costa Brava and Chrono category are listed at 100 m. These are maker-published ratings, not a collection-wide rating or independent confirmation of performance. Do not infer that the Automatic shares either figure.
- Crystal: The Costa Brava listing specifies sapphire crystal. The Special and Chrono listings specify sapphire with anti-reflective treatment; the Automatic page specifies curved sapphire with double anti-reflective treatment.
- Strap fit and exchange: The Costa Brava and Special pages specify 20 mm bands. The Special page says its silicone strap can be exchanged without tools and offers five color options. Confirm lug width and attachment details for the exact watch before buying a third-party strap; the cited pages do not establish universal fit across the Speed family.
