The Maurice Lacroix 1975 Master Grand Date Retrograde (ref. 758008-SS001-090-2) combines a large date at 12 o’clock with a retrograde weekday display at 6. Its 42 mm steel case is 13 mm thick, and the automatic ML302 calibre is specified with a 38-hour power reserve. The manufacturer lists it at €7,950 including VAT in Western Europe and $9,200 excluding VAT in the US; those regional prices have different tax treatment.
What the date and retrograde display show
The watch puts a large date at 12 o’clock and the day of the week on a retrograde scale at 6. A dedicated blue-plated hand indicates the weekday, then returns across the scale rather than making a full circular sweep. WatchTime describes the two calendar displays, while the manufacturer’s feature list names the weekday indicator and hours, minutes, and seconds. WatchTime’s January 26, 2026 launch coverage
The skeletonized sapphire dial gives the display an open appearance. Rhodium-plated hands and white Super-LumiNova provide the primary time indication, according to Maurice Lacroix. The manufacturer’s Western Europe listing
Movement and specifications
Maurice Lacroix specifies an automatic manufacture ML302 calibre, with a 38-hour power reserve, 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz), and 39 jewels. The movement is visible through the sapphire display caseback. The brand lists rhodium plating, perlage and colimaçon on the movement, and Côtes de Genève on the rotor; these are manufacturer-published finishing details, not an independent assessment of their execution. The case measures 42 mm across and 13 mm high, in brushed and polished stainless steel. It has a sapphire crystal and display caseback, and the manufacturer rates water resistance at 5 ATM. The listed strap is black leather, 20 mm wide, with a stainless-steel butterfly buckle; an easy-change system is also specified. Maurice Lacroix product details
The official listing reviewed does not state lug-to-lug length. Diameter and thickness alone therefore cannot establish how the watch will sit on a particular wrist. The 20 mm width is a useful starting point when looking for another strap, but the listing does not confirm that standard third-party straps work with its easy-change attachment; check connector compatibility before buying.
