The Nivada Grenchen x Time+Tide x seconde/seconde/ ChaosMaster “Sigh of Relief” is a black-dial, hand-wound chronograph based on the Chronomaster Aviator Sea Diver. Its defining detail is a relief-face motif where the running-seconds hand would normally be. It launched in 2022 as one of three emoji-themed versions, but published accounts disagree on how many were made: Time+Tide says 33 per version, while Nivada Grenchen’s official page says 99.
What is the ChaosMaster “Sigh of Relief”?
“Sigh of Relief” is the black-dial variant of the ChaosMaster, a collaboration between Nivada Grenchen, watch publisher and retailer Time+Tide, and French artist Romaric André, who works as seconde/seconde/. The project reworks Nivada Grenchen’s Chronomaster Aviator Sea Diver chronograph with a deliberately playful intervention rather than a new case or movement.
The launch framed the three emoji-themed versions as different emotional responses to a world turned upside down. On this model, the visual joke is built around the running-seconds display at 9 o’clock: its hand is replaced by a relief-face motif. How the design affects the watch
The watch retains the Chronomaster’s compact 38 mm case dimensions, but the 46.6 mm lug-to-lug measurement is useful context for fit: it describes the span across the wrist more directly than diameter alone. At 13.75 mm thick, the case and box-domed crystal will sit higher than a slim dress watch. Wrist shape, strap fit and the crystal profile all affect how that height feels in practice.
The altered 9 o’clock display is the collaboration’s main visual departure. It means this is not simply a standard Chronomaster with a different dial color: the familiar running-seconds indication is replaced by the artwork. The watch still has a 30-minute chronograph counter at 3 o’clock.

Edition size, launch price and availability
The published edition quantity is inconsistent. Time+Tide’s 30 November 2022 launch coverage and its seller listing each describe 33 pieces per emoji variant. Nivada Grenchen’s official ChaosMaster page instead says each of the three versions was made in a limited series of 99. The available accounts do not resolve the discrepancy, so neither number should be presented as an uncontested total.
Time+Tide reported a launch price of US$1,995 plus taxes in 2022. Its Australia listing now marks the Sigh of Relief edition out of stock, and Time+Tide later reported that the collection had sold out. Those are indications of the original primary-retail status, not confirmation that no example is available elsewhere or evidence of a current resale price.

What to check when considering a pre-owned example
For a used or collector-owned watch, the published launch specifications are only part of the decision. Check the individual watch’s condition, service history and provenance, and confirm that the movement and chronograph operate as expected. Ask what is included with the watch and compare the case measurements with a watch you already find comfortable. The 20 mm lug width is a useful starting point when assessing strap options, but it does not establish compatibility with every replacement strap or buckle.
