The rating is not consistent across the brand’s pages. The yellow 32024A17 product listing specifies 10 ATM, while Nivada’s general Super Antarctic specification page lists 20 ATM. The latter also gives 11.50 mm thickness, unlike the yellow listing’s 12 mm table entry and roughly 11.1 mm description.
For this yellow reference, treat 10 ATM as the applicable published rating unless the seller confirms otherwise. If you plan to swim or otherwise rely on its water resistance, ask the seller to verify the rating for the exact watch being supplied; do not assume the family page’s 20 ATM applies to 32024A17.

The full reference suffix matters: Nivada’s product data identifies 32024A17 as the yellow listing, while 32024A02 and 32024A04 appear as brown-leather and beads-of-rice variants. Confirm the suffix and included strap or bracelet on the order page. The brand’s product sitemap lists its catalog references.
Fit and strap compatibility
A 38 mm diameter and 45 mm lug-to-lug measurement provide a more useful starting point for fit than diameter alone. Compare both dimensions with a watch you already find comfortable, and consider how the case sits across your wrist. The stated lug width is 20 mm, so a 20 mm watch strap is the natural size to search for, but the listing gives a 20 x 16 mm strap width. Check the intended taper, buckle width and end shape before assuming an aftermarket strap will fit the watch and hardware as you expect.

What the Antarctic name refers to
Nivada Grenchen’s museum dates the Antarctic to 1957 and the Super Antarctic to 1958. The brand says members of the American Navy’s Deep Freeze Antarctic expeditions wore the Super Antarctic, describing it as a rugged development of the Antarctic. This is the manufacturer’s account of the watch’s history; it should be understood as a brand-attributed heritage claim rather than independent proof of expedition use. The current product description says the reissue idea followed a follower sharing a vintage watch on Instagram and messages encouraging the brand to recreate it. That explains the brand’s stated inspiration for the modern model, but does not establish how closely the reissue matches any particular vintage example.
