The NOMOS Metro Date Power Reserve reference 1101 is a white silver-plated, manually wound watch with a 37.0 mm stainless-steel case, a large date and a power-reserve indicator. The one detail to verify on any individual watch is its movement: NOMOS’s own pages name two different calibers for this reference, DUW 4401 and DUW 4701, and the sources do not establish which one a given unit contains.
What reference 1101 is
Reference 1101 is the white silver-plated version of the Metro Date Power Reserve. NOMOS Glashütte says the watch was designed by Mark Braun in 2014. Its dial combines a large date with a power-reserve indicator, and NOMOS describes both display features as patented on its product page. The Metro Date Power Reserve should not be confused with the ice-blue power-reserve model, which NOMOS lists as reference 1121 or 1121.SB. The two share a family name and a power-reserve display, but the white silver-plated reference 1101 is the subject here.

Size, materials and fit
NOMOS’s reference 1101 product page lists the following specifications:
| Attribute | Value listed by NOMOS |
|---|---|
| Case material | Stainless steel |
| Case diameter | 37.0 mm |
| Height | 7.7 mm |
| Lug-to-lug length | 43.6 mm |
| Crystal | Domed sapphire crystal |
| Back | Sapphire crystal glass back |
| Lug width | 18 mm |
| Strap as listed | Black Horween Genuine Shell Cordovan, quick-change spring bars |
A 37.0 mm case with a 43.6 mm lug-to-lug length and 7.7 mm height is a relatively slim, compact profile for a dress-oriented watch with a power-reserve display. Lug-to-lug length matters more than diameter for how a watch sits on the wrist, so check it against a watch you already own before deciding on fit.

Strap width and replacement straps
The 18 mm lug width is the only strap dimension NOMOS publishes. The listed strap uses quick-change spring bars, which makes swapping straps straightforward when the lug width matches. Before buying a third-party strap, confirm with the seller that it is 18 mm at the lug end, that the spring-bar length suits the lug, and that the attachment style matches the quick-change system. The sources do not confirm compatibility with any specific third-party strap.
Movement: DUW 4401 or DUW 4701
This is the point most likely to lead a buyer astray. NOMOS’s reference 1101 product page lists caliber DUW 4401. A later NOMOS release page for the ice-blue Metro model states that the white silver-plated version will also be equipped with DUW 4701. The release page describes that movement as having a quick-set date and a 52-hour power reserve.
The product page and release page therefore describe different calibers for the same reference. The sources do not establish which caliber every produced or currently sold unit contains. Treat the difference as a likely change in the rollout of the white model rather than proof that all reference 1101 watches share one movement.
| Feature | DUW 4401 (reference 1101 product page) | DUW 4701 (NOMOS release page) |

| Jewels | 23 | Not stated |
| Movement height | 2.8 mm | 2.8 mm |
| Power reserve | Up to 42 hours | 52 hours |

The power-reserve figures are manufacturer specifications. The sources do not describe the test conditions behind either number.

How to confirm the caliber in your watch
- Check the order confirmation, invoice or warranty card for the reference number and any movement description.
- Ask the authorized NOMOS retailer, or NOMOS directly, to confirm the caliber for your specific serial number. NOMOS provides a retailer finder on its website for locating authorized sellers.
- If you are buying used, request the original paperwork and the serial number before purchase, and compare the caliber stated there with the manufacturer’s current listing.
- If you already own the watch, the sapphire crystal caseback lets you view the movement directly. Compare what you see with NOMOS’s published images for the two calibers; the sources do not describe a caliber marking on the movement itself.
How the date and power-reserve displays work
The Metro Date Power Reserve combines a large date display with a power-reserve indicator on the same dial. The sources confirm that both are part of the design and that NOMOS holds patents on both, but they do not describe the mechanical arrangement or indicator layout in detail. For how the display reads in practice, examine the watch or NOMOS’s product photography.

Power reserve tells you how much running time is left before the watch stops. Under the reference 1101 page’s listing, a fully wound DUW 4401 runs for up to 42 hours. Under NOMOS’s release-page description, a DUW 4701 runs for 52 hours. Neither figure is a guarantee for an individual watch, since real running time depends on wear, temperature and servicing condition.

NOMOS rates reference 1101 at 5 atm and labels this as “splash-proof.” That wording is the manufacturer’s own. It supports exposure to rain, hand washing and splashes, but the sources do not support swimming or diving with the watch. Do not wear it in water unless you have a specification that explicitly covers that use.
Price
NOMOS’s regional listing for reference 1101 showed EUR 3,440 including VAT when the page was accessed in 2026. That figure reflects one regional listing on one date. Prices vary by country, tax rules and retailer, and they change over time, so check the current NOMOS listing or an authorized retailer in your market before making a purchase decision.

Checklist before buying
- Confirm the reference number is 1101 and the dial is white silver-plated.
- Ask which movement, DUW 4401 or DUW 4701, is in the specific unit you are buying.
- Check that the 37.0 mm diameter, 43.6 mm lug-to-lug and 18 mm lug width suit your wrist and strap plans.
- Treat the 5 atm rating as splash resistance only.
- Confirm the price in your market with NOMOS or an authorized seller.
For the broader range, NOMOS’s Metro family overview shows that the collection includes both hand-wound and automatic movements, so compare winding type, movement, reserve, dial colour and caseback against the other Metro models before choosing.
