The NOMOS Metro neomatik 41 Update is reference 1165, a 40.5 mm stainless-steel automatic watch whose date runs around the dial’s perimeter instead of appearing in a conventional window. It debuted at Watches & Wonders Geneva in 2021; this is a profile of that model, not a new 2026 launch.
What is the NOMOS Metro neomatik 41 Update?
Reference 1165 pairs the Metro’s clean, white-silver-plated dial with a peripheral date ring and the in-house automatic DUW 6101 caliber. Its name can be misleading on size: the case measures 40.5 mm across, just under 41 mm.
The model debuted at Watches & Wonders Geneva in 2021, according to the trade-fair announcement. The movement’s date caliber had been introduced earlier: NOMOS announced DUW 6101 in March 2018 in its press release. These are separate milestones: the movement came first, followed by the Metro model.
How does the ring date work?
Rather than showing the date through a small aperture, the watch places its date indication around the dial’s outer edge. NOMOS says the patented ring date can be set quickly in both directions. The display is a defining visual feature, while the caliber behind it is an automatic movement made by the Glashütte manufacturer.

Is the Metro neomatik 41 Update too large for your wrist?
Consider the 47.5 mm lug-to-lug measurement alongside the 40.5 mm diameter. Lug-to-lug length describes how far the watch spans across the wrist and can be more useful than the model name when estimating fit. At 9.1 mm thick, the case is relatively slim by its stated dimensions, but fit remains personal and depends on wrist shape and preference. Trying it on is the surest way to judge how it sits.
