Nothing Headphone (1) Pro is a capable premium wireless headphone, but the available evidence does not establish it as the best-sounding model in its class—or show that its sound improvement over the much cheaper Headphone (a) is worth the extra cost. TechRadar’s reviewer praised its comfort and sonic presentation while questioning the value gap. Nothing listed it at $399 on its US product page when checked.
Is Nothing Headphone (1) Pro worth buying?
It is worth considering if you want a feature-rich over-ear headphone with wired listening, adjustable EQ, multipoint, spatial audio and long manufacturer-rated battery life. The value case is less clear if sound quality is your main reason to spend more: TechRadar’s September 2026 review praised the listening experience but questioned whether the improvement over Headphone (a) justified the premium. That is the reviewer’s judgment, not a measured comparison establishing that one model is objectively better.

Nothing’s US product page listed the Pro at $399 when checked. TechRadar reported September 28, 2026 launch pricing of $399 in the US, £349 in the UK and AU$699 in Australia. These are dated regional price snapshots, not a guarantee of current local pricing.
What does its three-driver system mean for sound?
Nothing specifies three drivers in each headphone: a 40 mm bass dynamic driver, a 13 × 8 mm precision dynamic driver and a 3.2 × 6.0 × 1.15 mm solid-state xMEMS treble driver. The listed frequency response is 20 Hz–40 kHz. Those are design and specification details; on their own, they do not prove audible superiority or establish how the headphone sounds across music genres.
#1 Best Overall
- Triple Driver Architecture: Experience balanced, detailed audio with Nothing Headphone (1) Pro wireless headphones, built around a dedicated three-driver system featuring a 40 mm bass driver, precision driver, and treble XMEMS driver. Each driver is engineered to handle part of the frequency range, working together to unlock deeper bass, sharper vocals and richer textures across music, gaming, and more.
- Certified Hi-Res Audio for wireless and wired listening: Enjoy high-quality wireless audio with LDAC, or connect via USB-C for lossless, high-fidelity playback at up to 24-bit/192 kHz.
- 10-Mic Real-time Adaptive Active Noise Cancellation: Nothing Headphone (1) Pro delivers up to 46 dB of Active Noise Cancellation with 10 microphones and a new silicone sound seal. Ten microphones monitor your surroundings and automatically adjust noise cancellation in real time to reduce unwanted background noise. A new 8 mm silicone wall baffle wall inside the ear cushion provides passive isolation, while Transparency Mode lets you hear your surroundings when needed.
- Studio-Level Tuning with Metropolis Studios: Nothing partnered with Metropolis Studios, home to some of the world’s most influential audio engineers, to bring studio-level tools to Nothing Headphone (1) Pro noise cancelling headphone. Listen to the raw track with Flat EQ for reviewing music, producing or mixing, discover new EQ Profiles and feel what it's like to listen in a recording studio through a unique Dynamic Spatial Audio mode.
- Spatial Audio & Advanced EQ: Dynamic Spatial Audio has five modes: Standard, Studio B, Live House, Club and Concert Hall. Advanced EQ gives you precise control over your sound, letting you drag tuning points across multiple drivers.
TechRadar’s reviewer praised the Pro’s sonic presentation. The evidence available here supports calling its sound a strength of the review, not a definitive claim that it is the best-sounding headphone. Nothing X provides five default EQ profiles as well as custom and advanced EQ, so listeners can adjust the presentation to taste.
How does it compare with Headphone (a)?
The clearest comparison in the available review is about value and listening impressions. TechRadar said Headphone (a) launched $200 / £200 cheaper than the Pro and questioned whether the Pro’s sound improvement warranted that difference. Those are launch-price figures and the reviewer’s assessment; they do not establish today’s prices or a full specification-by-specification advantage.
Current competing-model specifications and directly comparable measurements are not established here, so claims about which has better ANC, battery life, materials or overall performance would go beyond the evidence. Treat the Pro as a higher-priced option whose extra features may matter to you, rather than assuming the model name guarantees a proportional sound upgrade.

How effective are the noise cancelling and spatial audio?
Nothing lists adaptive ANC of up to 46 dB. That is a manufacturer specification, not an independent measure of how much noise the headphones block in a particular setting. Nothing X includes five spatial audio modes—Balanced, Studio B, Live House, Concert Hall and Club—with head tracking. These are available listening features, not independent evidence of a particular sound quality.
The Pro also supports multipoint, allowing connection to two devices. For wireless music playback, Nothing lists AAC, SBC and LDAC; LC3 is listed for broadcast audio. Auracast support allows the headphone to transmit audio from a Bluetooth-connected source to nearby Auracast-capable receivers, and to receive broadcasts. Nothing says typical Auracast range is around 10 metres, depending on the environment; the receiving device must support Auracast.

Nothing Support lists the following maximum playback figures from internal tests at 25°C, 50% volume and default settings. Actual runtime varies with use and conditions.

Can you use it with a cable?
Yes. Nothing confirms both 3.5 mm Aux and USB-C wired audio. Its support page lists up to 96 kHz/24-bit over Aux and up to 192 kHz/24-bit over USB-C, subject to the capabilities of the audio source. A 3.5 mm audio cable and a USB-C cable are included in the box.
What else should you know before buying?
The manufacturer lists a weight of 327 g, a 1060 mAh battery, Bluetooth 6.1 and IP52 protection. The IP52 rating does not make the headphones suitable for showering or swimming: Nothing says they are not designed for swimming or other water sports and should not be worn in the shower.
The box includes the headphones, a hardshell case, a 3.5 mm audio cable, a USB-C cable and a quick-start guide. Nothing says replacement ear cushions are available through its official support team. The reviewed sources do not establish compatibility with third-party cushions, so check with Nothing before buying pads from another seller.
