What the C-1000 Y is—and what it is not
Ollech & Wajs frames the 2025 C-1000 Y as a tribute to its 1964 Precision Caribbean 1000. It carries forward visual cues including the handset, bezel and high water-resistance rating, but Fratello characterizes it as a modern interpretation rather than a reissue. The available product information does not establish that it reproduces the original’s construction, so it is better understood as a heritage-inspired contemporary diver. The defining design choice is the matte yellow dial. The manufacturer connects the color theme to the yellow trim worn by test divers Alberto Novelli and Cesare Olgjai. In Fratello’s reviewer’s lighting, the dial looked more gold-toned than vivid yellow; WatchReport also described it as yellow-gold. Those are subjective impressions, and the apparent shade can vary with light and display.

How it wears: compact diameter, substantial profile
The 39.5 mm diameter makes the C-1000 Y smaller across the wrist than many oversized deep-rated divers. Fratello’s reviewer found the diameter wearable even on a smaller wrist. But diameter alone understates its presence: the 45.7 mm lug-to-lug span and 15.8 mm thickness matter, and the tall domed crystal is visually prominent. The reviewer noted that the curved dome could slip beneath a sleeve more readily than the height might suggest, but also flagged the profile as a real fit consideration.
WatchReport likewise described the watch as chunky. That is an individual assessment, not a universal fit verdict; wrist shape, strap choice and cuff clearance all affect how it sits. If possible, judge the watch by its full dimensions and crystal profile rather than its diameter alone.

Dial, bezel and everyday usability
Fratello praised the legibility, tactile crown and unusual domed crystal, as well as the matte dial’s visual character. WatchReport liked the dial texture and case shape, but criticized the mineral bezel insert as a matter of personal preference. These reviews offer useful impressions rather than controlled durability or performance tests.
The bezel has both a 12-hour format and a 20-minute diving scale, according to Fratello’s description. That combination gives the watch a distinct visual layout; check that its markings and operation suit your intended use rather than assuming that a high water-resistance rating alone establishes suitability for a particular dive.

Movement and certification: what the upgrade changes
The automatic Soprod Newton Precision P092 includes a date, hacking seconds, a 4 Hz frequency, 23 jewels and a stated 44-hour power reserve. The manufacturer and Oracle of Time identify the standard movement as Chronofiable-certified. COSC chronometer certification is optional, rather than included in the standard specification. Oracle of Time’s June 22, 2026 article listed CHF 1,996 for the standard version and CHF 2,492 with the COSC option; those are dated figures, so confirm the current upgrade price with the seller. Price, delivery and buying by region
On October 12, 2026, the manufacturer listed the C-1000 Y at CHF 1,996 with the black nylon RAF-style strap included. The same listing indicated availability and an estimated four-week delivery from ordering. Fratello’s December 2025 article gave an earlier price of CHF 1,896; it should not be treated as the current listing. Check the current manufacturer listing before buying, since price and delivery information can change.

The manufacturer advertises free FedEx shipping with taxes and import charges included for many destinations, but describes a different discount arrangement where prepaid taxes cannot be offered. It also says direct sales to US customers are temporarily unavailable and directs US buyers to authorized dealers. These are location-dependent terms; verify the applicable price, taxes, shipping and availability for your destination before ordering.

The C-1000 Y takes 20 mm straps. The manufacturer lists cadmium-yellow nylon, mesh and Expedition rubber options in addition to the included black nylon RAF-style strap. A third-party 20 mm strap is another possibility, but lug width alone does not guarantee that every strap will fit the case or suit its proportions.

WatchReport’s reviewer found the Expedition rubber strap long on their wrist. Treat that as a personal fit note, not a general sizing rule; check strap length and return terms if fit is uncertain. The model’s 20 mm lug width and official strap options are listed by Ollech & Wajs, while Fratello reports the lug measurement.
Who should consider the C-1000 Y?
- Consider it if: you want a heritage-inspired diver with an unusual matte yellow dial, appreciate the domed crystal and tactile details, and prefer a 39.5 mm diameter to a larger case.
- Look closely at fit first if: you need a slim watch for close-fitting cuffs or find watches around 16 mm thick uncomfortable. The dome’s curvature may help it pass under some sleeves, but it does not make the watch thin.
- Compare carefully if: your priority is certification, bezel material, strap fit or the total delivered cost. Check the exact movement option, current local pricing, taxes, warranty and authorized-dealer access rather than relying on older review prices.
Fratello says its author wore the watch continuously for more than two weeks; that is the reviewer’s stated experience, not laboratory testing. The available reviews do not establish independent dive-testing results or real-world water testing, so the 1,000 m figure should be presented as the manufacturer’s rating.
