The Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean 600M Summer Blue, reference 215.30.40.20.03.002, pairs a 39.5 mm stainless-steel case and bracelet with a vertically brushed blue ceramic dial, blue ceramic bezel and 600 m water-resistance rating. Its compact diameter is offset by a 14.16 mm case thickness and a reported 194 g weight, so it is better understood as a substantial professional-style diver than a slim everyday watch.
Which Summer Blue Planet Ocean is this?
This review covers the steel-bracelet reference 215.30.40.20.03.002—not the rubber-strap version or other watches in Omega’s Summer Blue collection. Omega introduced the 11-watch Summer Blue collection on 27 June 2023 to celebrate the Seamaster family. The company says it used the blue tone to reflect each model’s water-resistance level; that is Omega’s design rationale, not an independent measure of diving capability. Omega’s collection announcement.
What makes the Summer Blue design distinctive?
Omega describes the Planet Ocean’s dial as ceramic with vertical brushing, a PVD-treated and varnished Summer Blue gradient. The matching blue ceramic bezel has a lighter-blue diving scale. The effect gives the watch a more layered, tonal look than a conventional single-color diver dial, while keeping the bezel’s dive-time markings visually distinct. These material and finish descriptions are Omega’s own. See the regional product page and Omega’s launch video.
The closed caseback carries a commemorative Poseidon and two-seahorse design. It is not a display back, so the movement cannot be viewed through it. Omega product details; Carat & Co.’s listing.

How does the case size translate to wear?
Omega lists a 39.5 mm case diameter, 45.60 mm case length including the lugs, 14.16 mm thickness and 19 mm lug width. Independent launch coverage rounds the thickness to 14.2 mm and reports a weight of 194 g. That combination is important: the diameter may suit someone who wants a smaller case than many modern dive watches, but the watch remains thick and heavy on its steel bracelet. Omega specifications; Dive into Watches’ 2023 launch coverage.
Diameter alone does not determine comfort. Wrist shape, bracelet sizing and clasp adjustment, and your tolerance for height and weight all matter. No fit test is represented here, so try the watch on if possible, especially if you prefer a low-profile or lightweight watch.
What movement and performance specifications are published?
The watch uses Omega automatic calibre 8800, with a stated 55-hour power reserve. Omega identifies it as a Master Chronometer and says it resists magnetic fields above 1.5 tesla (15,000 gauss). These are published specifications, not results of accuracy or magnetic-resistance testing for this review. Omega product page; Dive into Watches.
What does the 600 m rating mean in practice?
Omega rates the watch to 60 bar, or 600 m (2,000 ft), and specifies a unidirectional rotating bezel. Independent launch coverage also identifies a manually operated helium escape valve. The depth rating is a stated product specification, not a recommendation that ordinary recreational diving requires a 600 m watch, and it does not establish the water resistance of a particular used example.

For a pre-owned watch, ask for service records and recent pressure-test documentation from a qualified watchmaker. A rating printed in product specifications cannot substitute for checking the condition of seals and components on the individual watch.
How does it compare with the other Summer Blue divers?
These figures compare three models in the 2023 Summer Blue dive-watch group. The CHF prices are historical Swiss launch prices reported by Dive into Watches, not current offers. The sources do not state a comparable bracelet-extension detail for the Planet Ocean or Seamaster 300.

| Model | Case diameter | Water-resistance rating | Movement and reserve | Bracelet detail | Swiss launch price |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Planet Ocean 600M Summer Blue, steel bracelet | 39.5 mm | 600 m | Calibre 8800; 55 hours | 19 mm lug width; dive-extension detail not stated in the cited launch coverage | CHF 7,000 |
| Seamaster Diver 300M Summer Blue | 42 mm | 300 m | Not stated in the cited launch coverage | Bracelet dive extension | CHF 5,900 |

Source for comparison: Dive into Watches, 2023. The Planet Ocean is the smallest by stated diameter and the highest-rated by depth; the Diver 300M has a documented bracelet dive extension, while the Seamaster 300 is listed with a longer reserve. Those distinctions may help narrow a choice, but the launch prices should not be treated as present-day retail pricing.

Availability depends on market and seller. Omega’s Japan product page marks this reference discontinued in Japan; that does not establish that it is discontinued worldwide. One U.S. retailer page displayed $8,300 and stated a five-year manufacturer warranty when accessed in 2026. This is a time-sensitive listing, not a general market price or assurance that the same warranty applies to another seller or purchase. Check Omega Japan’s product page and the retailer listing for their stated details.

Before buying, verify the complete reference and confirm the listing is for the steel bracelet rather than the rubber-strap variant. Check the seller, condition, box and papers, service history, return window, water-resistance documentation and whether the manufacturer warranty is eligible for that purchase. A listing’s existence is not an endorsement of the seller.
