It pairs a traveler-style GMT display with substantial dive-watch specifications: the 2014 review reports a 43.5 mm steel case, 600 m water resistance and Omega caliber 8605. It was offered on either a steel bracelet or blue rubber strap. The €6,090 price published in 2014 was a launch-era recommended retail price, not a current valuation.
What is the Omega Planet Ocean GoodPlanet GMT?
GoodPlanet is the blue-dial variant of the first-generation Seamaster Planet Ocean GMT. Monochrome Watches’ 2014 review describes its orange bezel numerals and orange 24-hour GMT hand, a vivid contrast against the blue dial and bezel. Retrospective specialist coverage identifies the GoodPlanet as a regular model rather than a limited edition.
The name also reflects a documented historical conservation partnership. Fondation GoodPlanet’s 2013 activity report says Omega support and creation of the watch helped make its Indonesian coastal restoration and conservation projects possible, with part of the watch’s profits directed to field projects at that time. The Foundation describes work including mangrove restoration, seagrass preservation, community marine protected areas, coastal protection and local awareness. This documents the original project rationale; it does not establish that a purchase today contributes to the Foundation.
Fondation GoodPlanet’s Ocean project page states: “These projects are made possible through the support of OMEGA and the creation of a watch, Seamaster Planet Ocean 600 M GMT GoodPlanet.” The Foundation’s 2012 activity report says the Ocean program began in June 2012 with Omega support and included educational tools and events around the film Planet Ocean.

How the GMT works
The 2014 review describes the GoodPlanet as a traveler’s GMT. Its local hour hand can be adjusted independently, while the additional 24-hour hand tracks a second time zone. When travelling, the wearer can move the local hour hand to match local time while leaving the second-zone indication in place. The 24-hour hand makes that second time-zone reading distinct from the ordinary 12-hour display.
Bracelet and strap references
The two specifically identified GoodPlanet configurations differ by their bracelet or rubber-strap setup. Specialist event coverage says their specifications are otherwise the same.
| Configuration | Reference | What distinguishes it |
|---|---|---|
| Stainless-steel bracelet | 232.30.44.22.03.001 | Steel bracelet configuration |
| Blue rubber strap | 232.32.44.22.03.001 | Blue rubber strap configuration |
Confirm the full reference on the watch and the seller’s documentation rather than relying on a listing title or photographs alone. The available coverage does not establish current original-part availability or compatibility with third-party straps, so verify any included bracelet, strap, clasp or replacement component independently.

Fit and ownership considerations
At 43.5 mm across and 17.25 mm high according to the 2014 review, this is a substantial watch. Retrospective specialist coverage also characterizes this generation as thick. Diameter alone cannot predict how it will sit: case height, wrist shape and the bracelet or strap all affect the feel. If possible, assess the exact configuration on your wrist before buying.
- Check the reference: Match 232.30.44.22.03.001 to the bracelet version or 232.32.44.22.03.001 to the blue rubber strap version.
- Assess condition and completeness: Examine the case, bezel, crystal, crown, bracelet or strap, clasp and included accessories. Ask what is original and what has been replaced.
- Review service documentation: Request available service records and clarify what inspection or service, if any, is included in the sale.
- Compare like with like: Use dated local listings or transaction evidence for the same reference, condition and completeness. No current, geographically representative price range is established here.
