The Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean 600M GMT Master Chronometer reference 215.30.44.22.01.001 is a 43.5 mm stainless-steel GMT watch with a 600 m water-resistance rating and Omega calibre 8906. Its listed dimensions—49.40 mm lug to lug and 17.04 mm thick—make it a substantial watch on paper, but manufacturer specifications cannot tell you how it feels on your wrist. This overview covers what Omega documents and what those figures mean for assessing fit.
Which Planet Ocean GMT is this?
This article covers Omega reference 215.30.44.22.01.001: a 43.5 mm stainless-steel Seamaster Planet Ocean 600M GMT on a steel bracelet. Omega’s product page and product sheet identify the model and list its specifications. Omega announced a fourth-generation Planet Ocean collection on 18 November 2025, but that announcement concerns a newer collection; its details should not be applied to this reference.
Omega’s official materials establish the watch’s dimensions and features, not a reviewer’s experience wearing it. There are no firsthand fit observations or independent accuracy results here.
How large and heavy is it?
Omega lists a 43.5 mm case diameter, 49.40 mm lug-to-lug measurement and 17.04 mm thickness. The lug-to-lug span is useful when judging how the case may sit across a wrist, while thickness matters for clearance under a cuff. These dimensions indicate a substantial watch, but they do not predict comfort on every wrist. The listed approximate total weight is 226 g, a figure that includes the steel bracelet.
Before buying, compare the 49.40 mm lug-to-lug length and 43.5 mm diameter with a watch you already know fits well. If possible, try this reference on in person: wrist shape, bracelet adjustment and personal preference all affect fit.
What does the GMT watch offer?
Omega specifies calibre 8906, an automatic movement with a Co-Axial escapement, GMT and time-zone functions, and a 60-hour power reserve. The company also lists a date display. The product page describes a free-sprung balance with a silicon Si14 balance spring, two barrels and a bidirectionally winding rotor.

The GMT and time-zone functions are the relevant features for tracking another time zone. Omega’s published specifications identify those functions but do not, by themselves, establish how a particular wearer will use or set them. The 60-hour reserve is Omega’s stated figure, not an independently measured result.
What are its diving and magnetic-resistance specifications?
Omega rates the watch at 60 bar, or 600 m / 2,000 ft, and lists a screw-in crown and helium escape valve. That is the manufacturer’s water-resistance specification; it is not a report of independent dive testing. Follow the manufacturer’s guidance for operation and maintenance, and do not treat a rating alone as proof that a used or damaged watch remains water-resistant.

Omega also states that the watch is a METAS-approved Master Chronometer and is resistant to magnetic fields reaching 15,000 gauss. These are manufacturer-listed certification and resistance claims, not test results produced for this article.
What comes on the steel bracelet?
The reference is listed with a stainless-steel bracelet and a foldover clasp that has a comfort setting and diver extension. Omega lists a 21 mm distance between the lugs. That measurement is useful when checking strap compatibility, but it does not establish which replacement straps are suitable or included with a particular sale.

Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. What to check before choosing this reference
- Fit: assess the 43.5 mm diameter, 49.40 mm lug-to-lug span and 17.04 mm thickness together; a single case-width figure does not capture how a watch sits.
- Weight: Omega lists approximately 226 g for the watch on its steel bracelet. Consider whether that substantial listed mass suits your preferences.
- Function: confirm that GMT and time-zone functions, a date and a bidirectionally rotating bezel match the way you want to use the watch.
- Bracelet or strap: the documented configuration is a steel bracelet with comfort setting and diver extension; the listed lug width is 21 mm.
- Purchase details: price, stock and authorized-retailer status depend on market and seller; verify them locally rather than assuming they are established by the specifications.
Omega’s 18 November 2025 announcement of the fourth-generation Planet Ocean concerns a newer collection, not a specification update for this exact reference.
