Omega Speedmasters with additional complications do not share one extra function. The Speedmaster Moonphase Meteorite adds a moonphase display and date; the Chronoscope uses tachymeter, pulsometer and telemeter scales; and the Chrono Chime combines a chronograph with a minute repeater that chimes elapsed time. These features come from different named models, so the right comparison is by function, movement, size and reference—not by assuming every Speedmaster has the same configuration.
Which Speedmaster has a moonphase and date?
Speedmaster Moonphase Meteorite
In its announcement dated 14 January 2025, OMEGA described the Speedmaster Moonphase Meteorite as a 43 mm, manual-winding watch powered by Calibre 9914. Its moonphase display presents views for the northern and southern hemispheres, while a small-seconds subdial also carries the date. The chronograph includes a 60-minute and 12-hour recorder. OMEGA’s launch announcement describes these features for this collection; they should not be assumed to apply to every Speedmaster Moonphase or every Meteorite-dial Speedmaster.
The launch description specifies iron-meteorite dials and lunar-meteorite cabochons in the moonphase display. It describes two stainless-steel choices: one with a black PVD meteorite dial and one with a galvanic grey dial. OMEGA also states that the movement resists magnetic fields up to 15,000 gauss and that METAS determines its precision and chronometric performance. Those are manufacturer claims in the launch material, not independent test findings.
What does the Speedmaster Chronoscope measure?
Scales for speed, pulse and distance
The Paris 2024 Speedmaster Chronoscope collection, announced on 16 April 2024, puts three measurement scales around its dial: a tachymeter for average speed over a fixed distance, a pulsometer for pulse measurement, and a telemeter for distance from sound. OMEGA describes a 1940s-inspired “snail” dial layout and 43 mm models in steel and Moonshine Gold. The announcement names Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 9908/9909. These are details of the Paris 2024 collection, not specifications guaranteed for every Chronoscope reference or later edition. Read OMEGA’s Chronoscope announcement.

These scales differ from a moonphase or calendar: they help interpret elapsed time measured by the chronograph rather than adding a celestial or date display. OMEGA’s manual for reference 310.32.42.50.04.001 defines a chronograph or chronoscope as a pusher-actuated mechanism for measuring the time between two events, indicated by hands, and defines a tachymeter as a graduated scale indicating average speed over a fixed distance. That manual is specific to its stated reference, so its definitions clarify terminology rather than documenting the Moonphase Meteorite. Consult the manual for reference 310.32.42.50.04.001.
Which Speedmaster chimes?
Speedmaster Chrono Chime
The Speedmaster Chrono Chime combines chronograph operation with a minute repeater: a chiming mechanism that sounds elapsed-time information. OMEGA’s 26 October 2022 announcement says Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 1932 combines the two functions and identifies both the Olympic 1932 Chrono Chime and a 45 mm Speedmaster Chrono Chime. No. OMEGA’s Speedmaster press-room listing includes a Moonwatch announcement dated 13 January 2026 and a Speedmaster 38 announcement dated 25 August 2026. The latter describes two self-winding Co-Axial movements and seven new references, but neither listing establishes a complete live catalogue or retailer inventory for the Moonphase Meteorite, Chronoscope or Chrono Chime.
