The OnePlus Watch 3 is no longer an upcoming smartwatch. OnePlus announced it on February 18, 2025, originally planned open sales for February 25, and later delayed the retail rollout after discovering a “Meda in China” manufacturing typo on early units. Sales were subsequently moved to April 2025, making the Watch 3 an established product rather than a device awaiting release.
Its strongest case is the combination of a traditional round design, premium materials, full Wear OS functionality and unusually ambitious battery claims. The main compromises are equally clear: the standard model is large, iPhones are unsupported, health features vary by region, and the smaller 43mm version omits some of the larger model’s health hardware.

OnePlus Watch 3 release date: the timeline explained
OnePlus officially announced the standard OnePlus Watch 3 on February 18, 2025, when preorders opened in the United States and Canada. The original advertised open-sale date was February 25. OnePlus’s press announcements confirm the February launch announcement and preorder schedule.

The important buying conclusion is straightforward: the delay is historical context, not an unresolved release-date rumor. As of September 2026, the OnePlus Watch 3 is a launched product. OnePlus also introduced the separate OnePlus Watch 3 43mm in the United States on July 8, 2025.
Those dates should not be collapsed into one claim:
- February 18, 2025: announcement and preorder opening.
- February 25, 2025: original planned open-sale date.
- April 2025: reported rescheduled retail rollout after the typo-related delay.
- July 8, 2025: U.S. launch of the smaller 43mm model.
Availability, colors and promotions can still differ by country and retailer, so check the relevant official OnePlus product page before ordering.
Price and availability
U.S. pricing has also been more complicated than the original launch coverage suggested. The Watch 3 was initially discussed at $329.99, but that is historical launch pricing rather than a figure that should automatically be treated as the current U.S. price.
OnePlus temporarily raised the U.S. price to $499.99 in April 2025, then stated that the standard model’s final MSRP would be $349.99. The price history is documented in a OnePlus community announcement.
In other words, do not rely on an old “$329” launch headline or assume that a temporary $499.99 listing represents the product’s permanent MSRP. Promotions and stock can change, so treat any live purchase-page price as the price that matters at the time you buy.
The retrieved information does not provide a dependable current U.S. price for the 43mm model. Check its live official product page rather than assuming it costs the same as the larger watch.

The standard Watch 3 uses a conventional round watch shape rather than the squarer profile associated with the Apple Watch. That makes it a natural fit for people who want a smartwatch that resembles a traditional timepiece.
Its materials support the premium appearance. The watch combines a titanium bezel, a stainless-steel case and a sapphire-crystal cover. A tapered rotating crown provides physical control, joined by a second button on the case. The standard model is offered in Emerald Titanium and Obsidian Titanium.
“Looks great” is necessarily a matter of taste, but the design argument is more specific than simple launch-copy enthusiasm: it has traditional proportions, hard-wearing visible materials and physical controls instead of relying entirely on a touchscreen.

The trade-off is size. The standard watch measures approximately 46.6mm/47.6mm, depending on which case dimension is being referenced, and weighs 49.7g without its strap or 81g with the strap. OnePlus lists compatibility with wrists measuring 140–210mm. That is a substantial watch, and it may feel oversized or top-heavy on smaller wrists.
If you prefer a smaller case or find large sports watches uncomfortable, the 43mm version is the more sensible option. It is not simply the same watch shrunk down, however; its battery claims and health hardware differ.

The battery is the main reason to consider it
OnePlus claims up to five days in Smart mode, up to three days with heavy use and up to 16 days in Power Saver mode. It also says that 10 minutes of charging can provide a full day of use under its stated test conditions. These are manufacturer estimates, not guarantees of identical endurance for every owner.
The Watch 3 achieves this through a dual-engine design:
- The Snapdragon W5 runs Wear OS and more demanding smartwatch functions.
- The BES2800BP secondary chip handles lower-power tasks through the watch’s RTOS environment.
This arrangement allows routine background work to move away from the full Wear OS processor. It is the central reason the Watch 3 can promise considerably longer endurance than many conventional Wear OS watches.
“Five days” should not be read as five days with every demanding feature operating continuously. GPS workouts, frequent calls, an always-on display, high brightness, intensive health tracking and software behavior can all reduce endurance. Heavy-use operation is officially rated at up to three days. Power Saver mode lasts longer because it reduces the watch’s feature set; it is not equivalent to normal full Wear OS operation.
Health and fitness features
The standard model includes heart-rate monitoring, high- and low-heart-rate notifications, blood-oxygen tracking, sleep-quality monitoring, breathing and snoring-risk assessment, wrist-temperature sensing and vascular-health/arterial-stiffness assessment. A one-touch 60-second Health Check-In combines several measurements into a quick wellness snapshot.
For exercise, OnePlus lists more than 100 sports modes, including 11 professional sports modes, along with dual-frequency GPS. Google Health Connect and Strava support help move activity data into broader Android fitness workflows.
These features are wellness and fitness tools, not substitutes for medical diagnosis or treatment. In particular, a vascular-health result should not be interpreted as a clinical diagnosis of arterial disease.

Feature availability can depend on country, regulatory approval, phone model, account region and software version. U.S. buyers should pay particular attention to ECG: contemporary independent coverage reported that ECG functionality was unavailable in the United States because of regulatory-clearance issues. Do not buy the watch assuming that every sensor or health function listed for another market will work in the U.S.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.OnePlus Watch 3 43mm versus 46mm
The 43mm model is aimed at people who want a less imposing watch. It retains Wear OS and OnePlus’s dual-chip battery strategy, but it should be treated as a separate configuration rather than a smaller copy of the standard model.
| Consideration | 46mm standard model | 43mm model |
|---|---|---|
| Best for | Maximum battery and the fullest hardware package | Smaller wrists and lighter wearability |
| Battery claim | Up to five days Smart mode and 16 days Power Saver | OnePlus advertises up to seven days in Power Saver mode; the retrieved page does not provide a directly comparable Smart-mode table |
| Health hardware | Includes wrist-temperature and vascular-health functions where supported | Independent coverage reports that temperature sensing and vascular-health tracking are omitted |
| Launch | Announced February 18, 2025 | U.S. launch on July 8, 2025 |
Choose the 43mm if fit is your first priority and you can accept the reduced sensor package. Choose the standard model if battery endurance and the maximum available health hardware matter more than case size.

Compatibility and software limitations
The Watch 3 is an Android-only smartwatch. OnePlus says the OHealth companion app requires an Android 9.0-or-newer phone with compatible Google Mobile Services, including GMS version 23.45.23 or newer on its U.S. product page.
- iPhones are not supported.
- Android Go devices are not supported.
- OHealth is required for setup, companion features and health-history synchronization.
- Standalone health data has a retention limitation: OnePlus says it will not remain displayed after seven days without synchronization with the app.
Some extras are also tied to the phone brand. Camera control and short-video control functions require a OnePlus or OPPO phone running OxygenOS 15 or ColorOS 15 or newer. Google Wallet depends on country availability and supported payment infrastructure.
This means you do not necessarily need a OnePlus phone to use the core watch, but OnePlus and OPPO owners may receive the most complete integration. Android users on other compatible phones should check which controls and health services are available to them.
Who should buy the OnePlus Watch 3?
| Your priority | Best decision |
|---|---|
| Long battery life with full Wear OS apps | Buy the 46mm Watch 3 |
| Traditional styling and premium materials | Buy the 46mm model if the size suits your wrist |
| Smaller, less bulky case | Consider the 43mm model |
| iPhone compatibility | Skip both OnePlus Watch 3 models |
| U.S. ECG specifically | Do not assume the Watch 3 provides it |
| Samsung Health or Galaxy-phone integration | Compare a current Samsung Galaxy Watch before buying |
| Google-first software and a minimalist case | Compare a current Pixel Watch before buying |
| Serious training analytics and outdoor sports tools | Compare a current Garmin model |
The Watch 3 is strongest for Android users who want a conventional-looking smartwatch, Google apps, fitness tracking and fewer charging interruptions. It is a poor fit for iPhone owners, people who require a lightweight watch, buyers who need U.S. ECG functionality, or anyone unwilling to use OnePlus’s OHealth ecosystem.
Recommended Free Tools
OnePlus’s health ecosystem and long-term support reputation may also feel less reassuring than Samsung’s or Google’s to buyers who prioritize platform continuity. Before purchasing, review the current published support-period document and the current returns and warranty policy.
Final verdict
The OnePlus Watch 3 release date is confirmed because the product launched in 2025; the old February sales disruption should not be mistaken for an unresolved launch. Its design makes a credible case for readers who prefer a classic round watch, while the dual-engine architecture gives it a more compelling battery story than typical full Wear OS rivals.
The buying decision ultimately comes down to fit and restrictions. Buy the 46mm model for the strongest battery and fullest sensor package, choose the 43mm for a smaller wrist, and skip both if you use an iPhone or specifically need U.S. ECG support. The Watch 3 is attractive and unusually long-lasting—but only for the Android users and body sizes it actually serves.
