The OPPO Watch 3 Pro was impressive hardware, but it is not the best Android smartwatch for most buyers today. Its 550 mAh battery, large curved AMOLED display, Snapdragon W5+ Gen 1 platform, GPS, eSIM, NFC, ECG hardware, and five-day full-smart-mode claim were unusually ambitious for a 2022 watch. The decisive drawback is that the China-market version runs ColorOS Watch—not Wear OS—and lacks the dependable Google Play ecosystem many Android users expect.
That makes it a compelling specialist import for battery-focused buyers who can live with regional restrictions, but a poor default recommendation for most U.S. shoppers.
The short version
The OPPO Watch 3 Pro was one of the most technically ambitious Android-oriented smartwatches of 2022. Its large curved AMOLED display, Snapdragon W5+ Gen 1 platform, 550 mAh battery, built-in GPS, eSIM hardware, NFC, ECG hardware, and claimed five-day full-smart-mode endurance gave it the hardware credentials of a premium watch.
But the most important fact for buyers is not a specification. The China-market Watch 3 Pro runs ColorOS Watch rather than Google Wear OS, and contemporary testing found no Google Play or normal Wear OS ecosystem on the reviewed version. Outside China, eSIM service, voice assistance, app availability, language support, pairing, warranty coverage, and updates can all be problematic. That makes it an impressive import, not a straightforward replacement for a current globally supported Android smartwatch.

Verdict: buy the OPPO Watch 3 Pro only if its excellent battery life and unusually broad hardware matter more to you than Google apps, familiar Wear OS software, dependable local cellular support, and easy after-sales service. For most U.S. buyers today, a newer globally supported Wear OS watch is the safer choice.
OPPO Watch 3 Pro: key specifications
| Feature | What the Watch 3 Pro offers | What it means in practice |
|---|---|---|
| Launch market | Mainland China, introduced in August 2022 | Most overseas units are imports rather than ordinary local-market stock. |
| Operating system | ColorOS Watch; contemporary coverage referred to the ColorOS Watch 5.0 experience | Do not assume access to Wear OS apps or Google Play. |
| Processor | Qualcomm Snapdragon W5+ Gen 1 with Apollo 4 Plus coprocessor | A dual-processor design intended to balance responsiveness and low-power operation. |
| Display | Large, vertically oriented curved AMOLED panel | Distinctive and spacious, but the Pro is not a compact watch. |
| Battery | 550 mAh; claimed up to five days in full-smart mode and about 15 days in a lower-power mode | One of the watch’s biggest advantages, though LTE, GPS, display, and health settings change the result. |
| Health sensors | Heart-rate sensor, pulse oximeter, and ECG hardware | Broad wellness hardware; ECG activation and regulatory availability are region-dependent. |
| Fitness | More than 100 sports modes reported by contemporary coverage | Wide activity selection, but not every mode provides deep training analysis. |
| Connectivity | GPS, eSIM, NFC, Bluetooth-related phone connectivity, speaker and calling features | Many functions are designed around the Chinese market and local carrier support. |
| Water resistance | 5ATM | Useful protection for ordinary water exposure within the manufacturer’s limits; it is not a guarantee for every water activity. |
Design: premium hardware in a large, distinctive case
The Watch 3 Pro’s identity starts with its shape. Instead of imitating a traditional round watch, it uses a tall rectangular case with a large curved AMOLED display. The design gives notifications, menus, and workout information more vertical room than a small fitness tracker, and the curved screen helps the watch look more like a premium miniature phone than a basic activity band.
The large screen is a genuine strength for reading information on the wrist. It is also the reason not to treat the Watch 3 Pro as a universally comfortable choice. The available research supports its large-display and premium-hardware characterization, but it does not provide a standardized independent comfort measurement. Buyers with smaller wrists, or anyone who prefers a light and compact watch, should regard the size as a meaningful risk rather than assume that the Pro will suit them.
Physical controls include a rotating crown and a secondary side control/electrode arrangement associated with ECG functionality. That combination should make navigation more practical than relying on touchscreen gestures alone, while the electrode placement is part of the hardware required for an ECG reading.

Performance: fast hardware, limited by the software ecosystem
Qualcomm lists the Snapdragon W5+ Gen 1 platform and Apollo 4 Plus as a dual-processor arrangement. The basic idea is sensible: the higher-performance platform handles demanding tasks, while the lower-power coprocessor can take on simpler or background work. In theory, that is exactly the kind of architecture a feature-rich watch needs.
Contemporary reviews generally described the interface as smooth and responsive. Chinese coverage also characterized the ColorOS Watch 5.0 experience as fluid. Those are hands-on review observations, not laboratory benchmark results, so they should not be turned into a numerical performance claim. Still, the practical conclusion is favorable: the Watch 3 Pro had enough hardware headroom for a premium smartwatch interface in its generation.
The limitation is that processor performance is only part of a smartwatch experience. A fast watch with a small or region-restricted app catalog is less useful than a slower watch with the apps and services you actually need. Because the reviewed China-market model did not support Google Play or the Wear OS environment, its Snapdragon hardware does not provide the same software breadth as a current global Wear OS watch.
Battery life: the Watch 3 Pro’s strongest advantage
OPPO’s headline claim was up to five days in full-smart mode and roughly 15 days in a lower-power or light-smart mode. Contemporary Chinese reviews made the five-day claim look broadly plausible under their usage patterns. One review reported about 60% consumption over three days, which is consistent with approximately five days under similar conditions. Another review emphasized that the watch lasted for days and treated the large battery as a central advantage.

- Long Battery Life and IP68 Waterproof: This smart watch only requires 2 hours of charging and can be used for 5-7 days continuously, IP68 waterproof rating can withstand daily sweat, washing hands and rainy day, allowing you to fully enjoy your workouts.
This is not a guaranteed five-day result. The number can fall substantially when the display is kept active, GPS is used frequently, cellular functions are enabled, calls are made from the watch, workouts are recorded often, or health monitoring runs continuously. Network conditions can also affect cellular power consumption. The fair interpretation is that the 550 mAh battery gave the Watch 3 Pro unusually strong endurance for a full-featured smartwatch of its era, not that every owner will see exactly five days.
| Battery claim | How to interpret it |
|---|---|
| Up to five days in full-smart mode | A manufacturer claim supported broadly by contemporary review usage, but dependent on settings and network use. |
| About 15 days in lower-power mode | A light-use or reduced-function figure, not an estimate for normal full-smartwatch operation. |
| About 60% used over three days in one review | A useful real-world data point, but still one reviewer’s configuration rather than a standardized test. |
The battery advantage matters most to people who dislike nightly charging, travel frequently, or want GPS and health features without accepting the shorter endurance common among older full-smartwatch designs. It matters less if the watch’s regional software prevents access to the services that made you want a smartwatch in the first place.
Health and fitness: broad coverage, not automatically deep analysis
The hardware package is unusually broad. Qualcomm confirms a heart-rate sensor, pulse oximeter, ECG capability, GPS, and 5ATM water resistance. The watch is therefore equipped for general heart-rate tracking, blood-oxygen readings, route recording, workouts, and everyday wellness monitoring. Contemporary coverage also reported more than 100 sports modes.
However, a long list of sports modes does not mean that every sport receives advanced analysis. Gizmochina reported that several activities primarily recorded basics such as exercise duration, heart rate, and calories. That makes the Watch 3 Pro a versatile general-purpose fitness watch, but it should not be mistaken for a specialist training platform simply because its menu contains many activity presets.
ECG availability needs a major qualification
The Watch 3 Pro has ECG hardware and a side electrode arrangement, but hardware presence does not prove that ECG is activated, approved, diagnostically accurate, or available in your country. The contemporary review describing the ECG app reported that the function was initially unusable and that regional availability was uncertain.
Accordingly, do not buy an imported Watch 3 Pro on the assumption that ECG will work. Confirm the exact software version, seller documentation, and local regulatory availability first. Even when an ECG feature is active, a smartwatch reading is not a medical diagnosis and should not replace professional medical care.
The same caution applies to heart-rate and blood-oxygen measurements. The research confirms the sensors, not medical-grade accuracy. Treat them as consumer wellness features unless your healthcare provider tells you otherwise.
Connectivity and smart features: impressive on paper, geographically constrained
The Watch 3 Pro supports GPS, eSIM-based cellular functions, NFC, voice assistance, third-party apps, and independent calling in its intended market. That is a much more ambitious feature set than a Bluetooth-only fitness tracker. In the right market and with compatible service, the watch can act as a more independent phone companion rather than merely displaying notifications from a handset.

The phrase in its intended market is doing important work here. Contemporary testing found that eSIM functionality was tied to Chinese carriers, while voice recognition was limited to Chinese. Some third-party apps were also Chinese-only. Those restrictions can turn a promising specification sheet into a frustrating import experience.
NFC should be treated similarly. The presence of an NFC chip does not establish that Google Wallet, a particular bank, or a payment service will work in your country. Do not infer payment compatibility from the NFC specification alone.
The biggest problem: it is not a normal Wear OS watch
The China-market Watch 3 Pro reviewed by TechNode used ColorOS and did not support Google Play or Wear OS features. Gizmochina reported similar limitations involving third-party apps, voice assistance, and eSIM use. This is the dividing line between the Watch 3 Pro’s excellent hardware story and its difficult buying story.
If you expect to install the usual Wear OS applications, use Google Assistant, access Google Maps on the watch, read Gmail, or pay through Google Wallet, you should not assume that any of those services will be available. The Watch 3 Pro’s Snapdragon processor does not change its operating-system situation.

Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →It is also important not to confuse this model with the original OPPO Watch sold in some international markets. Some versions of the original OPPO Watch used Wear OS. The China-market Watch 3 Pro is a different software proposition, and a retailer that calls it simply an Android smartwatch may leave out the detail that matters most: the China ROM and ColorOS Watch environment.
Phone compatibility and U.S. import risks
Contemporary coverage described HeyTap Health as the Android companion application. That does not mean that every Android phone, phone region, or carrier will deliver the same experience. Pairing, language, app availability, cellular functions, and updates can vary with the watch’s region, the phone’s ROM, the HeyTap Health region, and the carrier.
Before buying an imported OPPO Watch 3 Pro smartwatch, work through this checklist:
- Identify the exact regional version. Ask the seller to state clearly that the unit is the China-market model and uses ColorOS Watch. Do not treat the word Android as evidence that it runs Wear OS.
- Decide whether Google services are essential. If Google Play or the normal Wear OS app catalog is a requirement, reject this model rather than hoping a software workaround will provide a supported experience.
- Verify cellular support with your actual carrier. The research specifically points to Chinese-carrier dependence for eSIM. Do not assume a U.S. carrier can activate it, even if the watch has eSIM hardware.
- Check HeyTap Health for your phone and region. Pairing reports are not a substitute for current compatibility confirmation. Confirm that the companion app is available to you and that the seller supports your intended phone setup.
- Ask about language and voice features. Voice recognition was reported as Chinese-limited, and some apps may be Chinese-only. Decide whether that is acceptable before ordering.
- Confirm ECG status separately. Ask whether the exact unit has ECG activated in its software and whether the function is available in your jurisdiction. A sensor listing is not enough.
- Read the return and warranty terms. An imported watch can be difficult to return or repair. Confirm who handles warranty service, which country the return goes to, and whether the seller will accept a device that cannot activate local cellular service.
- Check accessories by exact model. OPPO Watch generations can use different connectors and charging accessories. Do not order a generic OPPO Watch band, charger, or screen protector without an explicit Watch 3 Pro compatibility statement.
These checks are more important than a small difference in marketplace price. A cheap listing is not a bargain if it has the wrong ROM, cannot use your carrier, lacks a practical return route, or does not support the language and apps you need.

Who should buy it?
- Import-minded Android users who prioritize battery life: The five-day full-smart-mode claim and 550 mAh battery are compelling, especially if charging every night is unacceptable.
- Buyers who value hardware breadth: The large AMOLED screen, GPS, eSIM hardware, NFC, calling features, ECG hardware, and many activity modes make it more capable than a basic tracker.
- Users who can operate within the China-market ecosystem: If your carrier, language needs, apps, and expectations match the intended market, the software restrictions are less damaging.
Who should avoid it?
- Anyone who needs Google Play or Wear OS apps: The reviewed China version does not offer the normal Google smartwatch environment.
- U.S. buyers seeking dependable LTE activation: The available evidence points to Chinese-carrier limitations, not reliable U.S. carrier support.
- People who rely on English voice assistance: Contemporary testing reported Chinese-language limitations.
- Users who need a confirmed ECG feature: ECG activation and regional availability were uncertain in the reviewed software.
- Buyers who want local warranty and easy returns: Import listings can vary considerably in support, stock, firmware, and return arrangements.
- Small-wrist users or fans of compact watches: The large Pro case may not suit your preferences, and the available research does not establish universal comfort.
- Serious training users: More than 100 sport modes sounds impressive, but several modes were reported to provide mainly basic workout statistics rather than advanced sport analytics.

- eSIM and voice-assistant functions may be limited by country, carrier, and language.
- ECG activation and regional availability were uncertain.
- Imported units bring warranty, returns, language, pairing, and update risks.
- Large case may not suit every wrist.
- It is a 2022 model, so newer globally supported watches may be better long-term purchases.
Final verdict
The OPPO Watch 3 Pro answered the hardware question impressively. In 2022, it combined a powerful wearable platform, a large curved AMOLED display, a 550 mAh battery, GPS, cellular hardware, NFC, ECG capability, and extensive fitness tracking in one ambitious package. Its battery life was arguably its standout advantage, and contemporary reviews generally found the interface responsive.
It did not answer the software and availability questions nearly as well. The China-market ColorOS Watch version is not the Wear OS watch many Android buyers will expect, and the lack of Google Play, Chinese-carrier eSIM restrictions, Chinese-language voice functions, uncertain ECG activation, and import-support issues are not minor footnotes. They determine whether the watch is useful.
So, was it the best full-functioned Android smartwatch? It was among the most capable Android-focused watches of its 2022 generation, especially for battery and hardware breadth. It is not the best full-functioned Android smartwatch for most people today, and it is a particularly risky choice for most U.S. buyers. Import it only after confirming the ROM, phone pairing, carrier situation, language support, ECG status, seller reputation, and return policy.
Research note: This review is based on Qualcomm’s device specifications and contemporary coverage from TechNode, Gizmochina, and Chinese smartwatch reviews. No independent laboratory testing was performed for this article. Battery figures are manufacturer or reviewer-specific claims, and no medical accuracy claim is made for ECG, heart-rate, or blood-oxygen measurements.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does the OPPO Watch 3 Pro run Wear OS or Google Play?
No—not on the China-market version reviewed by contemporary coverage. It uses ColorOS Watch and did not support Google Play or the normal Wear OS ecosystem. Do not assume that Google Maps, Gmail, Google Assistant, Google Wallet, or Wear OS apps will be available.
Will the OPPO Watch 3 Pro eSIM work in the United States?
Do not assume it will. The available research specifically reports Chinese-carrier dependence for the watch’s eSIM service. A U.S. buyer should confirm support with the exact seller and carrier before purchasing; the presence of eSIM hardware alone is not enough.
Does ECG work on the OPPO Watch 3 Pro?
The watch includes ECG hardware, but the reviewed software initially did not make the feature usable and regional availability was uncertain. Confirm activation and local availability for the exact unit. Even when active, ECG is a consumer wellness feature and not a medical diagnosis.
How long does the OPPO Watch 3 Pro battery last?
OPPO claimed up to five days in full-smart mode and about 15 days in a lower-power mode. Contemporary reviews broadly supported the five-day claim under their own usage, but always-on display, GPS, cellular use, calls, workouts, and continuous health tracking can reduce endurance.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsIs the OPPO Watch 3 Pro worth importing today?
Only if you specifically want its large display, powerful-for-its-generation hardware, and long battery life and are willing to accept the China-market software and import risks. If you need Google apps, local LTE activation, English voice features, confirmed ECG availability, or straightforward warranty service, choose a newer globally supported smartwatch instead.
The Bottom Line
Bottom line: The OPPO Watch 3 Pro offers exceptional-for-its-generation hardware and battery life, but its China-only ColorOS software and regional cellular limitations make it an import for enthusiasts—not the safest Android smartwatch choice for most buyers today.
