OPPO introduced the Watch X internationally on February 29, 2024, pairing Wear OS 4 with built-in dual-frequency GPS, a stainless-steel case and a 500 mAh battery. OPPO claimed up to 100 hours in Smart Mode, but the watch is an Android-only 2024 model—not a current-generation OPPO watch as of 2026.
What launched, and when?
The OPPO Watch X was announced internationally on February 29, 2024, with sales in Singapore scheduled to begin March 2. OPPO positioned it as a flagship smartwatch. Its international version runs Wear OS 4 alongside OPPO’s RTOS efficiency system. Those details apply to the international model; a China-market version may use different software and may not offer Google services. OPPO’s Singapore launch announcement gives the launch timing, while OPPO’s UK specifications list the international model’s software and hardware.
The original Watch X is a 2024 product, not a label for every later Watch X-series model. Later models exist in some markets. The available official information does not establish a current U.S. retail listing for this original model.

What Wear OS adds—and which phones work
On the international model, Wear OS brings access to Google Play apps and services such as Maps, Wallet and Assistant, as well as notifications, account synchronization and Bluetooth calling. OPPO’s dual-engine design uses the Snapdragon W5 Gen 1 for full smartwatch functions and a BES2700 efficiency processor for lower-power operation. The two-system approach is intended to balance app capability with battery life; it does not mean every feature remains available in every power mode.

Compatibility is a significant buying constraint: OPPO specifies Android 8.0 or later with Google Mobile Services version 23.45.23 or later. Android Go devices and iPhones are excluded. Google Wallet and Assistant support can also vary by country, language, account and service eligibility; consult OPPO’s regional product information for its feature qualifications.
The listed connectivity includes Bluetooth 5.0 Classic and Bluetooth Low Energy, 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz Wi-Fi, NFC, music functions and Bluetooth calling. The reviewed specifications do not establish cellular or LTE capability, so buyers should not assume the watch can make calls independently of a connected phone or network service.
Battery life: what OPPO’s figures mean
OPPO quotes the following battery and charging figures for the 500 mAh battery. They are manufacturer claims, not a guarantee of an individual owner’s runtime.
| Mode or charge claim | OPPO’s stated figure |
|---|---|
| Smart Mode, standard use | Up to 100 hours |
| Smart Mode, heavy use | Up to 48 hours |
| Power Saver Mode | Up to 12 days |
| Quick charge | 10 minutes for up to one day of use |
| Full charge | About 60 minutes |
The 100-hour estimate assumes OPPO’s specified test setup, including its official watch face, always-on display off, defined Bluetooth and Wi-Fi use, sleep monitoring, notifications, limited app interaction and a 30-minute outdoor run per day. The heavy-use scenario includes always-on display, a third-party face, navigation, more screen interaction, calls and workouts. Always-on display, GPS navigation, calls, frequent app use and health monitoring can change actual runtime. The 12-day figure is for Power Saver Mode, not an equivalent stretch of full Wear OS use. OPPO’s test notes and charging claims are on its Ireland product page.

Onboard GPS and fitness tracking
The Watch X has its own dual-frequency L1/L5 GNSS receiver, so supported outdoor workouts can record location without relying on a phone for positioning. It supports BeiDou, GPS, Galileo, GLONASS and QZSS. That is more specific than simply saying the watch has GPS, but dual-band hardware cannot guarantee a clean or exact track in every setting: buildings, trees, tunnels, satellite conditions, watch placement and software can all affect results. OPPO’s accuracy and signal-performance descriptions are company claims, not independent test findings.
OPPO lists more than 100 workout modes and automatic recognition for six activities, including running, walking, cycling, swimming, rowing-machine workouts and elliptical training. Running metrics include ground contact time and balance, vertical oscillation, pace, heart-rate recovery and recovery-time estimates. The watch also has dedicated badminton tracking alongside modes for activities such as tennis, skiing and swimming.
Health and recovery features include heart-rate and blood-oxygen monitoring, sleep tracking, sleep respiratory-rate information, heart-rate variability, stress monitoring and a snoring-risk assessment on supported phones. Some features depend on the OHealth phone app and compatible phone software. These are wellness and training measurements, not medical diagnoses; OPPO says the watch is not a medical device.

The case measures 47.0 × 46.6 mm and is 12.1 mm thick, or about 13.65 mm including the optical-sensor area. At approximately 49 g without its strap and 80 g with it, the Watch X is substantial. Its 1.43-inch AMOLED screen has a 466 × 466 resolution and 326 ppi. OPPO lists 600 nits as the default maximum brightness and 1,000 nits in High Brightness Mode, which it identifies as an OTA-supported feature.

OPPO describes an integrated stainless-steel case with polished and satin-brushed finishes. The back is not steel: its specifications identify the bottom case as a plastic or polycarbonate composite. The watch also has 2.5D sapphire crystal over the display, a fluororubber strap and a stainless-steel buckle. Platinum Black and Mars Brown are among the finishes listed in some markets. The 47 mm body may be a poor fit for smaller wrists or for anyone who finds a thick watch uncomfortable during sleep tracking.
Durability and water-use limits
OPPO lists 5ATM water resistance, IP68 dust and water resistance, sapphire crystal and MIL-STD-810H testing. It also states an operating range of approximately −20°C to 55°C and a storage range of approximately −40°C to 70°C. These are manufacturer specifications and testing claims; MIL-STD-810H testing does not mean military procurement or guarantee survival in every condition.
Do not read 5ATM or IP68 as permission for every water activity. OPPO advises against hot showers, saunas, hot springs, deep diving and diving. Its IP68 description refers to immersion in up to 1.5 metres of freshwater for up to 30 minutes under specified conditions. Water resistance can decline through age or damage, and liquid damage may not be covered by warranty. See the conditions on OPPO’s Ireland product page.
Availability and buying considerations
The launch announcement confirms Singapore availability from March 2, 2024, but it does not establish current stock or a current price elsewhere. The available official information does not confirm a U.S. retail channel for the original model. Before buying in another country, check the exact model and market version, Google Play access, local service support, warranty coverage and returns terms. An imported China-market unit should not be assumed to match the international Wear OS model.
