Orient’s USA product page specifies the red Kamasu with its F6922 automatic movement, day-and-date display, luminous hands and markers, a screw-down crown, and a 120-click unidirectional bezel. These are manufacturer specifications, not a guarantee of how the watch will wear or perform on every wrist. The 47 mm lug-to-lug measurement is especially useful when judging fit: diameter alone does not tell you how much wrist space the case occupies. The red dial is the Kamasu’s defining visual choice. A 2022 independent review describes it shifting from burgundy toward crimson in sunlight; that is one reviewer’s observation, and the appearance will depend on lighting and individual perception. Watch Researcher’s week-long account praises the dial and lume, while identifying the crown and bracelet as drawbacks. Orient’s product page also includes individual customer comments about crown size, bracelet noise, fit, and bezel stiffness. Is 200 m water resistance the same as diver certification?
No. Orient lists 200 m water resistance, but the independent 2022 review says the Kamasu is not ISO-certified. A depth rating and certification are not interchangeable claims: do not interpret the 200 m specification as proof that this model has a particular certification. What the hands-on timing report does—and does not—show
Watch Researcher reports that its sample gained 12 seconds in its first 24 hours, another 8 seconds the following day, and was 45 seconds ahead after a week. This is one watch observed by one wearer, not a controlled test or a prediction of the accuracy you should expect. It can be a compelling choice if you find the red Kamasu near your budget and want the combination of sapphire, hand-winding, hacking, and a stated 200 m water-resistance rating. The available evidence does not establish its current U.S. price or support a 2026 ranking against all competing watches, so the old $200 headline should not be treated as a live deal or universal verdict.

The older review compared it with the Seiko 5 SRPD, citing a then-price of $250 and Hardlex crystal for that model. Those are historical figures, not confirmed current offers. Check the exact red Kamasu reference before buying
The red version appears with different suffixes across listings and regions. Orient USA shows RA-AA0003R39B and RA-AA0003R19A; Watch Researcher refers to RA-AA0003R19B, while A Blog to Watch discusses RA-AA0003R19A and a regional distributor uses RA-AA0003R.
