Which Patek Philippe watches were new in 2024?
Patek Philippe described its Watches and Wonders Geneva 2024 announcements as “eleven new alliances of technical prowess and style,” including fresh interpretations of existing flagship models. The watches below are selected for their design, function and variety rather than as a ranking of quality. The Cubitus, launched in October, was the year’s major new collection.

Why choose the World Time Ref. 5330G-001?
The white-gold Ref. 5330G-001 is the natural pick for someone who wants a travel complication with a practical extra. Its date display is synchronized with local time, so the date follows the local-time indication when the wearer changes time zones. Patek Philippe described it as the first World Time watch in its regular collection with this function. That “first” claim is the manufacturer’s, rather than an independent survey of every World Time watch.
The blue-gray opaline dial keeps the watch visually restrained beside its complex time-zone display. This is the most directly travel-focused choice in the group if a World Time function matters more than an alarm or a sporty case shape.

What makes the Golden Ellipse Ref. 5738/1R-001 distinctive?
The Ref. 5738/1R-001 pairs a rose-gold case with an ebony-black sunburst dial and an exclusive chain-style bracelet. The bracelet revives a style previously offered in the Golden Ellipse line, making it a design-led choice rather than a complication showcase. Patek Philippe called it the slimmest watch in its regular collection in the 2024 release; that superlative is the manufacturer’s characterization.
The Golden Ellipse’s shaped case is a clear alternative to conventional round watches and to Cubitus’s squared geometry. The release does not give dimensions here, so it is not possible to compare its size numerically with the Cubitus references from these published details.

Who is the Alarm Travel Time Ref. 5520RG-001 for?
The Ref. 5520RG-001 is for a wearer who wants more than a second time-zone display alone. Its rose-gold case, two-tone gray dial, second time zone and 24-hour alarm make it a specialist travel option with a more elaborate functional brief than a simple dual-time watch. It sits between the World Time’s broad time-zone display and the Cubitus’s calendar-focused complication: choose it when an alarm tied to travel is part of the appeal.
What makes the 2024 Cubitus models different?
Cubitus debuted in October 2024 in three references: platinum Ref. 5822P-001, two-tone steel and rose-gold Ref. 5821/1AR-001, and steel Ref. 5821/1A-001. All use a square case with rounded corners and a horizontally embossed dial. Patek Philippe framed the collection as a reinterpretation of “elegant sporty” style; President Thierry Stern said he wanted a “real sporty, fresh spirit.” Those are the maker’s design aims, not independent assessments of how the watches wear.

Cubitus Ref. 5822P-001: the complication-led choice
The platinum Ref. 5822P-001 combines a blue horizontally embossed dial with an instantaneous large date, day and moon-phase indications. It measures 45 mm in diameter and is powered by caliber 240 PS CI J LU with a 22K gold mini-rotor. Patek Philippe said the displays jump simultaneously within 18 milliseconds and reported six patent applications for the movement. The 18-millisecond figure and patent count are claims in the October 2024 manufacturer release.
Choose this reference if the Cubitus design appeals but the more substantial calendar display is central to the choice. Its platinum case and additional functions distinguish it from the two date-only debut models.

Cubitus Ref. 5821/1AR-001: steel and rose gold
The Ref. 5821/1AR-001 pairs steel and rose gold with a blue sunburst dial, date display and self-winding caliber 26-330 S C. Patek Philippe lists a 45 mm diameter and 8.3 mm thickness. It is the two-tone option for readers who want Cubitus’s new case shape without the 5822P’s calendar complication.
Cubitus Ref. 5821/1A-001: steel and olive green
The Ref. 5821/1A-001 uses a steel case and bracelet with an olive-green sunburst dial. Like the two-tone model, it has a date display and caliber 26-330 S C; the listed dimensions are 45 mm in diameter and 8.3 mm thick. It is the most visually restrained material choice of the three, while the green dial gives it a distinct identity.

- Start with the function: choose the World Time for local-time-synced date and world-time utility, the Alarm Travel Time for a second time zone plus 24-hour alarm, or Cubitus 5822P for its large date, day and moon phases. The Golden Ellipse is the design-first option in this selection.
- Decide on the case language: the Golden Ellipse has a shaped formal profile, while Cubitus introduces square geometry with rounded corners. The travel models offer alternatives to those two visual directions.
