Time+Tide’s 2024 favourites span Tudor’s everyday, travel, diving and chronograph watches. The selection is an editorial shortlist, not an objective ranking or a universal buying guide: which one suits you depends on fit and intended use. Its featured models were the Black Bay 41 “Monochrome,” Black Bay 58 GMT, Pelagos FXD GMT “Zulu Time,” Black Bay Ceramic Blue “VCARB,” Pelagos FXD Chrono Cycling Edition and, as an honourable mention, Black Bay Chrono Pink.
How to read this 2024 Tudor shortlist
The picks reflect Time+Tide’s editorial view of Tudor watches released or highlighted in 2024, a year in which the brand stood apart from its better-known parent through new releases and incremental updates. “Favourite” here means a writer’s preference, not a sales ranking, independent test result or claim that one model is best for every buyer. The selection and its original descriptions are in Time+Tide’s 2024 list.
For current collection context, Tudor’s official index includes Black Bay, Pelagos, Pelagos FXD, Royal and Ranger lines. That range helps place these six choices within the wider catalogue, but a 2024 mention does not by itself establish that a model remains available or show its current price.
The six favourite Tudor watches
Black Bay 41 “Monochrome”
Time+Tide included the Black Bay 41 “Monochrome” among its strongest watches of the year while acknowledging that it was an incremental update. That is the writer’s assessment, not evidence of a market consensus or sales performance. It is the shortlist’s pick for someone drawn to a straightforward Black Bay design rather than a GMT or chronograph complication.

- Tudor Pelagos Chronometer Black Dial Titanium Men's Watch M25600TN-0001
Black Bay 58 GMT
The Black Bay 58 GMT is the list’s travel-watch choice. Time+Tide singled out its 39 mm diameter and 12.8 mm thickness as more wearable than the larger standard Black Bay GMT and thicker Black Bay Pro. Those dimensions, along with the official specifications, apply to reference 7939G1A0NRU: Tudor’s 2024 press sheet lists a stainless-steel case, bidirectional 24-hour bezel, 200 m water resistance and calibre MT5450-U certified by COSC and METAS. The sheet does not state a power reserve in the supplied material.
Time+Tide reported US$4,400 on rubber or US$4,600 on a steel bracelet when its article was published in 2024. These are historical US prices, not current quotations.
Rank #2
- 41mm steel case with polished and satin finish
- Bidirectional rotatable bezel in steel with 24-hour graduated anodised aluminium disc
- Self-winding mechanical movement with 70 hour power reserve
Pelagos FXD GMT “Zulu Time”
The Pelagos FXD GMT “Zulu Time” connects the GMT function to Tudor’s relationship with French naval aviation, as noted by Time+Tide. For official reference 2542G247NU, Tudor’s 2024 press sheet specifies a 42 mm titanium case, 12.7 mm thickness, 200 m water resistance and calibre MT5652-U. The movement is COSC- and METAS-certified and has a certified 65-hour power reserve. This is the shortlist’s larger titanium GMT option, with its specifications tied to the named reference rather than every Pelagos FXD.
Black Bay Ceramic Blue “VCARB”
Time+Tide highlighted the Black Bay Ceramic Blue “VCARB” for its electric-blue dial, matte ceramic case and hybrid leather-and-rubber strap. Its name and styling connect it with the Visa Cash App Racing Bulls Formula 1 team. The article gave a US$5,150 price at publication in 2024; it should be treated as a dated US figure, not a current price or availability statement.
Rank #3
- Tudor Pelagos Chronometer Automatic Blue Dial Men's Watch M25600TB-0001
Pelagos FXD Chrono Cycling Edition
This pick reflects Tudor’s cycling involvement. Time+Tide described a 43 mm carbon-composite case and chronograph movement, making it the shortlist’s sports-timing choice rather than a GMT or straightforward everyday watch. Its article reported US$5,275 at publication in 2024. The available source material does not establish further reference-specific specifications or a current price.
Black Bay Chrono Pink — honourable mention
Time+Tide’s honourable mention was the Black Bay Chrono Pink, treated as a dial variant rather than a wholly new watch. The article stated a US$5,650 retail price at publication in 2024. Any secondary-market premium described at that time is time-sensitive and should not be taken as a current valuation.
Rank #4
- Tudor Black Bay Fifty Eight Automatic Chronometer Blue Dial Men's Watch M79030b-0001

The table separates the shortlist’s editorial descriptions from official reference-level specifications: the detailed movement and case figures above are available for the two GMT references, not for every watch in the selection. The historical prices are useful for understanding what the 2024 article reported, but buyers should check Tudor or an authorised retailer for current local pricing and availability.
What makes the two GMT picks different?
Both GMTs offer 200 m water resistance and movements certified by COSC and METAS, but the stated references take different approaches to size and material. The Black Bay 58 GMT is 39 mm across in stainless steel; the Pelagos FXD GMT is 42 mm across in titanium. Their listed thicknesses are close—12.8 mm and 12.7 mm respectively—so the larger diameter does not mean the FXD GMT is thicker according to these specifications. Tudor’s material identifies the Black Bay reference’s bezel as bidirectional and gives the Pelagos movement a certified 65-hour power reserve; the supplied Black Bay specification does not state its reserve.

Those distinctions make the Black Bay 58 GMT the more compact option by diameter, while the Pelagos FXD GMT is the larger titanium choice with a stated power-reserve figure. This comparison is limited to the cited references and published specifications; it does not establish which watch will feel better on a particular wrist.
