WatchPro reported separate adjustments in the United States and United Kingdom in January, another UK rise in September, and an average euro-zone increase in November. The amounts varied by market, reference, material, and tax basis; the figures below are historical retail prices, not current prices.
How Rolex’s 2022 price changes unfolded
WatchPro reported that Rolex began raising prices in January 2022 after a freeze since 2020. The reports then described further, market-specific changes during the year. Bloomberg also covered the September UK adjustment, describing it as the second UK rise of 2022 and placing it in the context of sterling’s fall against the dollar.

January increases: US examples varied by model and material
WatchPro USA’s January figures show why a single percentage cannot describe the change. The outlet reported that the no-date Oystersteel Submariner rose from $7,900 to $8,950, or 13.3%. Its comparison used the older 40mm model; the line had relaunched in a 41mm style in 2020, so this is not a fully generation-matched comparison. The same report put the GMT-Master II Batman 126710 BLNR at $9,700 to $10,550, an 8.8% increase.
For the Daytona examples, the reported Oystersteel 116500 rose from $13,150 to $14,550, or 10.6%. The white-gold 116519 LN moved from $29,700 to $30,500, or 2.7%; WatchPro notes that the white-gold figure includes sales tax. The difference illustrates that these particular examples did not move by the same percentage. It does not establish a general rule that steel watches always rise more than gold watches.

January increases: UK figures need a generation and tax caveat
WatchPro reported a 13.5% rise for the no-date Oystersteel Submariner in the UK, from £6,300 to £7,150. The article’s displayed old-price text appears as “£6,3000,” an apparent typo; the £6,300 figure is the prior price implied by its stated percentage. As with the US example, the report compares an older 40mm model with a line relaunched in a 41mm style in 2020, so it is not a like-for-like generation comparison.
The same January report listed the Oystersteel Daytona 116500LN at £10,500 to £11,600, a 10.5% increase. Its white-gold Daytona 116519 LN was listed at £31,550 to £32,250, or 2.9%; that UK white-gold figure includes VAT. Because tax treatment differs between the cited white-gold prices and other examples, avoid treating them as directly equivalent without adjusting the basis.
September: a second UK adjustment with reference-level figures
WatchPro’s September report gave specific UK prices for three steel references. The Submariner 124060 rose from £7,150 in April to £7,500, a 4.9% change. The GMT-Master II Pepsi 126710BLRO went from £8,400 to £9,000, up 7.1%. The steel Daytona 116500LN changed from £11,600 to £12,150, up 4.7%. The Submariner comparison is explicitly from April to the September adjustment, rather than from January.
WatchPro associated the UK change with sterling weakness, and Bloomberg likewise situated the September move after the pound fell against the dollar. Those reports provide currency context, but they do not establish currency movements as the sole cause of every Rolex price increase in 2022.

November: Rolex’s stated reason for euro-zone alignment
WatchPro reported an average 5% euro-zone increase effective November 1. In the same coverage, it quoted a Rolex email statement sent to Bloomberg: “There is an alignment of euro zone prices due to currency fluctuations”. Rolex’s statement refers to euro-zone price alignment; it does not amount to a model-by-model explanation for every 2022 adjustment.
How to compare the reported figures
These are historical nominal list-price figures reported for particular dates and markets, not a complete official Rolex price schedule. Compare them only when the underlying details match:
- Market and currency: US dollars, UK pounds, and euro-zone pricing are separate sets of figures; adding them into a global average would require a dated exchange-rate method.
- Date: January, September, and November refer to distinct adjustments. The September Submariner comparison begins with its April price.
- Reference and generation: The January Submariner comparisons have a generation mismatch; the September report names reference 124060.
- Material and model: Individual steel and precious-metal examples moved by different percentages, but the sample does not support a universal rule across Rolex’s range.
- Tax basis: WatchPro says the US white-gold Daytona figure includes sales tax and the UK white-gold figure includes VAT.
- Price and percentage: When both are available, retain the starting price, new price, currency, reference, and percentage together. A percentage alone can obscure the cash difference and comparison basis.
WatchPro supplies the detailed numeric examples, while Bloomberg’s September coverage independently reports the UK move but is subscriber-only. The cited reporting does not establish a complete official model-by-model 2022 price archive, so unlisted models should not be assigned an inferred increase.
