What Oura Ring 4 Ceramic changes
Ceramic changes the ring’s exterior material and appearance. Oura describes the Ceramic model as zirconia ceramic outside, with a titanium inner shell and recessed interior sensors; standard Ring 4 has a titanium exterior and interior. Oura lists the same Smart Sensing platform and sensor types for both Ring 4 versions.
Oura named Cloud, Tide, Petal, and Midnight as launch finishes in October 2025. Its later finishes page lists Cloud and Midnight for Ceramic, and Oura says availability can vary by inventory and retailer. Treat the launch palette as historical rather than a promise that every finish or size is currently for sale.

The thickness and weight figures are Oura specifications. Ceramic is thicker and heavier on paper; whether its feel is preferable is personal. Oura’s launch article reports a Mohs hardness rating of 8.5/10 for the zirconia ceramic, a manufacturer-reported rating rather than independent comparative testing. Oura also cautions that rings can be scratched or scratch nearby items, recommends removing the ring for friction-heavy activities such as weightlifting or when handling metal, ceramics, or stone, and says wear-and-tear scratches are not covered by warranty.
Battery life and charging
Oura reports 5–8 days of Ring 4 battery life as a typical estimate, not a guarantee. In Oura’s stated test, new, unworn rings in sizes 8–10 were worn all day, with eight hours of sleep tracking per night and Automatic Activity Detection with Activity Heart Rate engaged for one hour per day; Blood Oxygen Sensing was disabled. Oura says actual results vary with ring size, settings, activity, battery age, and use.
Oura says charging a Ring 4 on its standard charger typically takes 20–80 minutes, depending on the ring’s starting charge. Its Charging Case announcement separately gives 90 minutes for a full case or ring charge. These are figures for different charging contexts, not one universal charging time.
Oura Ring 4 Charging Case versus the dock
The Oura Ring 4 Charging Case is a separate portable accessory, not included with the ring. Oura says it works with Ring 4 styles, including Ceramic, and stores up to five full ring charges. It is size-specific, uses USB-C, and is splash-resistant. The corded Ring 4 Charging Dock is a separate stationary option and is also size-specific.

Oura announced the case at $99 on January 7, 2026; that is a dated announcement price, not a verified current price. Check the current listing, compatibility, and size before purchase. Oura’s charger guidance distinguishes Ring 4 charging hardware from Ring 5 hardware: the Ring 5 case and dock are for Ring 5, not Ring 4.
Choosing the right charger
- Confirm that your ring is a Ring 4 model, including Ceramic, rather than Ring 5 or Gen3.
- Check the ring size and select the matching case or dock; Oura says the case is size-specific.
- Choose the case if portability and stored charges matter, or the corded dock for a stationary setup.
- If choosing the case, plan to supply a USB-C cable; Oura says one is not included.
Health features and Health Panels
With an active Oura Membership, Oura lists Ring 4 features including sleep analysis, 24/7 heart-rate tracking, temperature monitoring, blood-oxygen sensing, daytime stress, activity and automatic activity detection, cardiovascular age, cardio capacity (VO2 max), glucose tracking, meals, resilience, and women’s-health features such as Cycle Insights and Pregnancy Insights. Availability can depend on the feature and configuration. Oura says membership is associated with the account, not an individual ring.
Health Panels is an in-app bloodwork offering announced alongside Oura’s Ceramic Collection, Charging Case, and multi-ring support. It is a laboratory-data service, not a sensor built into Ceramic. Multi-ring support
Oura announced multi-ring support so members can pair and switch between multiple Ring 4 rings under one account. This can suit someone who wants to rotate finishes or wear one ring while another charges. It is an account and switching feature; it does not mean that two rings produce simultaneous or clinically superior readings.

Choose titanium if you want a lighter, thinner Ring 4
Oura’s specifications list standard Ring 4 at approximately 2.88 mm thick and 3.3–5.2 g, versus approximately 3.51 mm and 5.1–8.1 g for Ceramic, depending on size. The difference may matter if you prefer a less substantial ring.
Consider the Charging Case for travel
The size-specific case is useful if you want portable charging and up to five stored full ring charges. For a stationary charging setup, the corded dock may be sufficient. Neither is included merely by choosing Ceramic.
Existing Ring 4 owners may not need to switch
If your current Ring 4 fits and works for you, Ceramic’s case for purchase is its material and appearance, not a new sensing platform. Confirm the current stock and price before buying.
