What is the Panerai PAM00600?
PAM00600 is a Panerai Radiomir with a mechanical minute repeater and tourbillon, alongside GMT-related functions. The naming varies by source: the current U.S. product page uses “Radiomir Minute Repeater Tourbillon,” while Panerai’s historical launch release calls it the “Radiomir 1940 Minute Repeater Carillon Tourbillon GMT.” These are names for the same reference, not evidence of two separate watches. Panerai’s PAM00600 product page provides the current product description; the historical release documents the longer launch name.
Panerai’s release presents the watch as a new complex movement, but that wording does not establish that it was the first double minute repeater across the watch industry. The product’s distinctiveness is better explained by what its repeater does and how it signals the time.
How does its carillon minute repeater work?
A minute repeater sounds the time on demand. On PAM00600, Panerai specifies a three-hammer mechanism striking three gongs. The lowest tone marks hours, and the highest marks minutes. Between them, the mechanism sounds a triple chime for each ten-minute period, rather than using the more usual fifteen-minute interval. Panerai’s launch release describes the sequence as chiming “the hours, ten-minute periods and minutes on demand.”

Panerai calls the feature a double-minute repeater because it can chime either local time or a second time zone. The wearer can therefore hear the selected time rather than relying only on the dial to read it. The GMT differential and world-time functions are also listed among the movement’s features; those functions are related to time-zone tracking, but they are not themselves the chime.

What are the case size and water resistance?
The current product page specifies a 49 mm polished Goldtech case, a see-through sapphire caseback and water resistance of 3 bar, approximately 30 metres. It also lists an alligator strap in 26/22 sizing. The water-resistance figure is a specification, not a recommendation to use a highly complicated repeater watch for swimming or diving.

How much does the Panerai PAM00600 cost?
The $400,000 figure in the headline is not verified by the official sources cited here. Panerai’s product page does not establish that as a current price, and the historical release does not substantiate it as a launch price. A reliable price needs dated evidence tied to a seller, market and condition—particularly for a high-complication watch that may be offered through private or secondary-market channels.
