Its defining ownership detail is bronze patina: Panerai says the surface changes gradually over time, giving each case a distinct appearance. The substantial case size and the supplied leather and rubber straps are just as important to consider as the specification sheet.
What is the Panerai PAM00968?
Panerai announced the Submersible Bronzo PAM00968—also styled PAM 968—on 18 March 2019. It combines the Submersible dive-watch design with a 47 mm bronze case, brown dial and unidirectional rotating bronze bezel with a brown ceramic insert and graduated scale. Panerai’s launch announcement describes its luminous indications as visible in darkness.
The case diameter is a major practical consideration. At 47 mm, this is a large watch; the number alone does not determine how it will sit on a particular wrist, but it makes trying one on especially useful if you are unsure about the size. The bronze and brown color scheme also gives it a different look from a conventional steel dive watch.

What does the P.9010 and 72-hour reserve mean?
The P.9010 is an automatic mechanical movement. Panerai lists a 72-hour power reserve, equivalent to three days when fully wound. In practical terms, that is the stated running time the watch can deliver before it needs winding again, assuming it is not kept wound through wear or another winding method. The small seconds and date sit alongside the central hours and minutes, while the bezel is used to track elapsed dive time.
Does the PAM00968 bronze develop patina?
Yes. Panerai says bronze patina forms gradually and gives each case an individual appearance. The manufacturer also says the patina protects the surface from further oxidation without changing the material’s properties. That description does not guarantee a particular color, pattern or rate of change on any individual watch, and it is not a cleaning recommendation. Panerai’s 2019 announcement describes this characteristic of the model.

Which straps come with the PAM00968, and what strap fits?
Panerai’s launch description says the watch came with a brown leather strap and a second military-green rubber strap. The Panerai Brazil product page lists the brown calf strap as 26/22 mm: 26 mm at the attachment end, tapering to 22 mm at the buckle.
That measurement is a useful starting point when looking for a replacement, including a tapered 26/22 mm strap, but it does not confirm that every strap of those dimensions will fit. Check how the strap attaches to the case and whether its buckle is compatible. With a pre-owned watch, also confirm which straps are actually included rather than assuming the original set is complete.

Availability and price
Availability depends on region and can change. When checked in 2026, Panerai’s Singapore page displayed shopping controls, while its Brazil page showed the watch as unavailable. Those regional page states do not establish worldwide stock or confirm availability today.
