Panerai specifies a 44 mm case, automatic P.900 movement, three-day power reserve and 30 bar water resistance. The sustainability angle needs a caveat: a 2022 report gives a recycled-material figure for the QuarantaQuattro, but the available sources do not establish a model-specific life-cycle benefit.
Which green Panerai is PAM01287?
PAM01287 is the green Verde Smeraldo version of the Submersible QuarantaQuattro eSteel. Panerai lists a brushed 44 mm eSteel case, a polished-gradient green dial, and an eSteel and ceramic unidirectional rotating bezel. Panerai’s product page is the source for the model’s specifications.
It is one of a trio of color variants. Hodinkee identifies the grey PAM01288 and blue PAM01289 alongside the green PAM01287; the sources do not establish environmental differences between the colorways. Hodinkee’s 2022 coverage discusses the three references.
What does “green in multiple ways” mean?
The visible green
The Verde Smeraldo has a green polished-gradient dial. Panerai lists a green textile strap and an additional military-green rubber strap, so the color carries through beyond the dial.

The eSteel material story
Panerai identifies the case and bezel as eSteel. The brand’s sustainability page discusses its 2021 eLAB-ID concept watch and supplier transparency, but it does not state a recycled-material percentage specifically for PAM01287. Panerai’s sustainability information provides that broader context.
Hodinkee reported in 2022 that 72 g of the 137 g Submersible QuarantaQuattro was recycled material, and described its strap as recycled PET. That is a publication’s reported figure for the watch, not an independent life-cycle assessment; it does not by itself quantify an environmental benefit for this particular reference.

Movement, functions and dive timing
The PAM01287 uses Panerai’s automatic P.900 calibre. Panerai lists a three-day power reserve, date display and small seconds. Its 2024 catalogue describes the unidirectional rotating bezel as a means of calculating dive duration. The Panerai 2024 catalogue explains the bezel’s dive-timing role.
Water resistance: what 30 bar does and does not tell you
Panerai specifies water resistance of 30 bar, approximately 300 m. This is a manufacturer rating, not a guarantee that the watch is suitable for every dive. Follow Panerai’s operating and maintenance guidance and ensure the watch is in appropriate condition before exposure to water; the specification alone does not establish the outcome of an independent test.

The watch is listed with a green textile strap and an additional military-green rubber strap. Panerai specifies size 24/22 for the Submersible 44 mm. If buying another strap, verify fit for the exact watch and attachment system rather than relying on width alone.
