Panerai’s PAM.Guard program can extend an eligible watch’s International Limited Warranty by up to six years, for a maximum of eight years total—not eight extra years. The program launched on November 26, 2019, and Panerai still describes it as available for qualifying watches. To receive the extension, owners must register and apply while the original two-year warranty is valid; registration does not guarantee approval.
What PAM.Guard does—and when it launched
PAM.Guard is Panerai’s digital watch-registration and warranty-extension program. The Federation of the Swiss Watch Industry reported that Panerai launched it on November 26, 2019, initially describing it as retroactive to watches purchased during the two years before launch. The Federation’s January 2020 report establishes that historical launch date. Panerai’s current program page continues to describe the extension for eligible watches purchased within the previous two years. Panerai’s PAM.Guard page is the reference for its current offer.

Panerai describes the benefit as repairs or replacement parts at no charge when a manufacturing defect causes the watch to fail its specifications, subject to restrictions. That is not blanket protection against every repair bill. In its US FAQ, Panerai says wear and tear and damage caused by inappropriate handling are not covered under the base warranty; the extension carries the original warranty’s conditions and exclusions.
Who can apply—and why an extension may be refused
The current PAM.Guard page says the watch must have been purchased within the previous two years, and the application must be submitted before the original two-year warranty expires. The detailed Spanish-language terms identify additional grounds for denial, including an expired original warranty, a mismatch between the watch reference and Panerai’s registered reference, inadequate registration or supporting documents, or an ineligible watch. Panerai also reserves discretion to exclude or suspend a watch if it suspects it is lost or stolen.

Panerai’s Spanish-language terms say the extension attaches to the watch and may benefit a later purchaser or gift recipient. Those same terms distinguish that benefit from participation in the PAM.Guard account: participation is for individuals and cannot be sold, assigned, shared, or transferred. Check the terms that apply in your purchase country before relying on the subsequent-owner provision.
How to register for PAM.Guard
- Scan the QR code on the watch’s warranty card, or enter the serial number manually on Panerai’s PAM.Guard page.
- Validate the watch and subscribe to PAM.Guard by following the page’s registration flow. Submit the request while the original warranty remains valid.
- Create a digital collection as prompted. Panerai may request additional purchase or warranty documents before deciding whether to extend coverage.
Under the Spanish-language terms, application also involves consent to receive product or service communications; the terms say that consent can later be updated. Requirements may differ by market, so consult Panerai’s local terms rather than assuming every regional version has identical conditions.

Service and regional terms to keep in mind
Panerai warns that an unauthorized third-party repair can invalidate warranty coverage. Its US FAQ directs owners to a Panerai boutique, authorized retailer, or authorized repair center, and also describes a service-kit route. For US customers, Panerai says a complete service commonly takes four to eight weeks as a reference; it provides an estimate after physically examining the watch. Its recommendation to have a watch checked every two to three years—or every year for water use—is maintenance guidance, not a promise that routine service is covered by PAM.Guard.
The sources establish the program’s International Limited Warranty framing but do not establish a complete country-by-country availability map or identical rules everywhere. The FAQ cited here is US-specific; detailed conditions on consent and later owners cited above come from Panerai’s Spanish-language terms. Panerai’s Spanish terms also say the program does not affect consumer rights recognized under applicable local law.

What changed since the launch announcement
The launch announcement is historical, not a new 2026 rollout. The Federation’s January 16, 2020 report said the program launched on November 26, 2019; Panerai’s current page is the better guide to present eligibility language. For example, Panerai’s current product page for the Submersible Carbotech PAM 2616 displays PAM.Guard messaging, but that alone does not establish that every watch—or every purchase channel—qualifies.
