Parmigiani Fleurier’s La Ravenale is a unique Lépine pocket watch unveiled in 2025 to mark founder Michel Parmigiani’s 75th birthday. Its defining feature is a restored minute-repeater movement made by Ed. Koehn in the 1920s, housed in hand-engraved white gold and paired with opal-and-jade marquetry. The Maison lists it as a unique piece with a price on request, not as a regular production model.
What is the Parmigiani Fleurier La Ravenale?
La Ravenale brings together a historical repeater movement and new decorative work in a singular pocket-watch format. Parmigiani Fleurier says its Restoration Workshop restored the 1920s Ed. Koehn calibre for this piece. The official listing identifies the original movement as Koehn A GENEVE, number 78708.
The Maison frames the watch as a meeting of restoration, artistic craft and mechanical watchmaking. Its Lépine construction places the movement in a pocket watch rather than a wristwatch, with the case and chain designed as part of the presentation.
How does La Ravenale’s minute repeater work?
A minute repeater sounds the time when activated. Parmigiani Fleurier says La Ravenale strikes the hours, quarters and minutes using two distinct tones: a low note for hours, a higher note for minutes, and both tones together for quarters. The manufacturer describes two tuned gongs and symmetrical hammers, and says the Lépine construction allows the mechanism to resonate.

Why is it called La Ravenale?
The name and decorative concept refer to Ravenala madagascariensis, the Traveller’s Palm of Madagascar. Parmigiani Fleurier says the plant’s fan-like geometry informs the watch’s engraving and the opal-and-jade marquetry on the caseback. This is the Maison’s stated design inspiration.
