The Tourbillon prioritizes an extreme profile and a visible complication; the 910P offers automatic winding in a yellow-gold case with a khaki-green dial.
How the two 2025 Altiplanos differ
| Specification | Altiplano Ultimate Concept Tourbillon | Altiplano 910P |
|---|---|---|
| Winding and caliber | Manual winding; Piaget caliber 970P-UC | Automatic; caliber 910P |
| Complication | Flying tourbillon, displayed at 10 o’clock, according to Fratello | No tourbillon stated in the cited coverage |
| Case size | 41.5 mm diameter; 2 mm thick | 41 mm diameter; 4.3 mm thick |
| Materials and appearance | Cobalt-alloy case, khaki-green details, gold accents and green leather strap, as described by contemporary coverage | Yellow-gold case, khaki-green dial and matching alligator strap |
| Reported power reserve | 40 hours, reported by Fratello | 46 hours, reported by Fratello |
| Reported frequency | 28,800 vibrations per hour, reported by Fratello | 21,600 vibrations per hour, reported by Fratello |
| Water resistance | Not stated in the cited sources | 2 ATM splash resistance, reported by Fratello |
The Tourbillon is 0.3 mm larger in diameter but less than half the thickness of the 910P. Its 2 mm figure refers to the complete watch profile, including case and sapphire crystal, according to Piaget. Fratello reports a 0.2 mm sapphire crystal for this version. The 910P trades that record-setting slimness for automatic winding and a longer reported power reserve.
What makes the Ultimate Concept Tourbillon so thin?
Conventional watches stack components in layers. For the Altiplano Ultimate Concept, Piaget reworked that arrangement: the Federation of the Swiss watch industry describes bridges, dial and hands as fused on one side, and the caseback, movement, mainplate and bezel on the other. Piaget says the construction is protected by five patents and that 90% of the original Ultimate Concept’s components were redesigned for the Tourbillon version. Piaget’s official account describes the 2 mm measurement as including the case and sapphire crystal.
The Tourbillon is an interpretation of the 2024 anniversary model, not simply the earlier watch in a new color. Adding the flying tourbillon required extensive redesign while retaining the exceptionally thin overall profile. Fratello reports that the tourbillon sits at 10 o’clock, with the hand-wound 970P-UC running at 28,800 vibrations per hour and a stated 40-hour power reserve.

The 910P: automatic winding in yellow gold
The 910P is the more conventional choice in operation, though still an ultra-thin design: it winds automatically and measures 4.3 mm thick across a 41 mm case. Fratello reports a 258-component caliber, a suspended barrel, a 46-hour power reserve and a frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour. Its khaki-green dial and matching alligator strap contrast with the yellow-gold case.
For practical expectations, Fratello reports 2 ATM splash resistance for the 910P. That is a limited rating; the cited coverage does not establish a water-resistance rating for the Tourbillon. Neither figure should be treated as an independent durability test.

- This tourbillon crafted by Swiss chief designer Etienne Ruffieux with modern architectural aesthetics, features a lightweight, comfortable, free-sprung balance flying tourbillon. It houses an independently developed architectural tourbillon movement adorned with oversized ruby bearings. The design aesthetic is expressed through the interplay of light and shadow created by its extreme skeletonization. The watch has been honored with the IAI Global Design Award for its outstanding original design.
- Independently developed CAL9001 free-sprung balance flying tourbillon movement, manual winding, 28,880 vibrations per hour, 25 ruby bearings. Features high-end finishing including satin brushing and beveled edges, engraved brand logo with gold-stamped. Dual mainspring series technology delivers 80-hour power reserve (twice that of standard tourbillon movements). This technology ensures more uniform and gradual mainspring release, resulting in enhanced timekeeping precision and stability.
- The CAL9001 tourbillon movement features the exclusive free-sprung micro-adjustment technology typically reserved for luxury timepieces. This free-sprung system eliminates the need for a balance spring regulator, thereby overcoming the timing inaccuracies caused by regulator displacement in conventional mechanical movements. This ensures the watch delivers enhanced precision and stability in timekeeping.
- This tourbillon measures 40mm in diameter and just 9.7mm in thickness, weighing a mere 67 grams. Its meticulously engineered structure and radically skeletonized tourbillon movement eliminate all superfluous metal components, allowing the mechanical artistry of the free-sprung flying tourbillon to shine in its purest form. It is an exquisite, high-end tourbillon watch that is both ultra-thin and supremely comfortable.
- The watch is water-resistant to 50 meters, featuring a double-sided sapphire crystal and an Italian leather strap with hand-stitched detailing for comfortable and durable wear. We offer a three-year worldwide warranty.
Where the models fit in Piaget’s ultra-thin history
Piaget’s ultra-thin tradition predates the Ultimate Concept by decades: the Maison traces it to the 9P caliber, introduced in 1957. The Ultimate Concept began beating on February 7, 2017, following four years of research and development, according to the Federation of the Swiss watch industry. It was presented at SIHH in Geneva in 2018; the first watch left Piaget’s workshops in April 2020, and it won the GPHG Aiguille d’Or in November 2020. Piaget also records the 2020 award on its official collection page. The Federation’s account provides the dated development and launch history: Piaget Altiplano Ultimate Concept.
Record claims need a date. Piaget describes the original Ultimate Concept as the world’s thinnest watch at its 2018 reveal, and calls the later Tourbillon a record-breaking 2 mm watch. But the record has moved on: Fratello reports that the 2024 Tourbillon held the world’s-thinnest-tourbillon claim for a year, until Bulgari introduced its 1.85 mm Octo Finissimo Ultra Tourbillon in 2025. The 2025 Piaget is therefore notable for its 2 mm profile, not an unqualified current world record. Piaget’s stated philosophy, published as an attribution to Valentin Piaget, is “to do what has never been done before.”

Price and availability for the 2025 versions
Fratello reported on August 26, 2025, that Piaget had not released list prices for these exact khaki-and-gold versions. The same article cites €39,400 for other gold 910P models, which is not a confirmed price for the new khaki version. Its roughly CHF 600,000 figure for the Tourbillon is an estimate based on the previous limited edition, not a Piaget-confirmed price. Current pricing, stock and regional availability are not established by the cited coverage. For a purchase inquiry, ask a Piaget authorized seller about the specific reference and its availability.
