Pixel Watch 5 watch faces are beginning to arrive on Pixel Watch 4 through an update to the Google Pixel Watch Faces app in the Play Store. The rollout is gradual, so the update may not be available on every Watch 4 yet. Check the Play Store for an update to the app rather than sideloading an APK.
Which Pixel Watch 5 faces are coming to Watch 4?
Android Authority’s October 9, 2026 report names five faces reaching Pixel Watch 4:
- Weave
- Chronograph
- Multicolor Modular
- Multicolor Reveal
- Stephen Curry
Google’s August 12, 2026 Pixel Watch 5 announcement introduced new watch faces and generative faces as Watch 5 features. That announcement establishes where the designs debuted; Android Authority’s later report is the source for their Watch 4 rollout.
How to check for the update
- Open the Play Store on your phone or Pixel Watch.
- Find the Google Pixel Watch Faces app and check whether an update is available.
- Install the update if offered, then check the watch’s face options for the newly reported designs.
Android Authority reports that Play Store delivery removes the need to hunt for or sideload an APK. The report mentions app version 4.2.12.989940186 as a version received by one user, not as a confirmed universal release version or Google release-note requirement.
#1 Best Overall
- The Google Pixel Watch 4 is a stunning display of precision craftsmanship, with Gemini, your built-in AI assistant, Google’s longest-lasting battery, and comprehensive tools for next-level health and fitness performance[1,2,3,4]
- See it all and do the most with the Actua 360 domed display; it’s 10% larger and 50% brighter than Pixel Watch 3, and as durable as ever with scratch-resistant Gorilla Glass[1]
- The Google Pixel Watch 4 has Gemini built in[4]; just ask questions and your ultra capable AI assistant will deliver quick responses for personalized help; and stay connected when you’re texting with AI-powered quick replies that are hyper-relevant[5,6]
- Get up to 30 hours of battery life or up to 48 hours in Battery Saver mode[3]; plus, the new side charging dock gives you 15 hours of battery in 15 minutes or less[7]
- Train smarter with 40+ exercise modes and real-time stats on your wrist[8]; and with high-precision dual-frequency GPS, you get more accurate route tracking on runs and hikes[1]
Why the update may not appear yet
The rollout appears to be gradual. Android Authority reported that some Watch 4 owners had received the update while others had not; that observation does not establish a schedule for any individual device. If the app has no update available, check again later rather than assuming your watch is ineligible.
Does Watch 4 get the AI watch-face generator?
Android Authority also reported that the app update may include Google’s AI watch-face generator, but that detail is based on an individual user report. It is less firmly established than the five named faces, and the available report does not verify that the generator is available to every Watch 4 owner.

Does this apply to older Pixel Watch models?
The October 9 report describes the faces as arriving primarily on Pixel Watch 4 and does not establish a complete compatibility list for older models. Google’s product announcement covers Watch 5 launch features, not compatibility with previous watches. Do not assume the same update or every face is available across the entire Pixel Watch lineup.
