A Gulf pearl-diving tribute in three dimensions
The Pearl Diver draws on Gulf pearl-diving tradition and the Seddiqi family’s place in fine watch culture in the Middle East. Its dial is conceived as a scene: a hand-engraved gold diver, patinated to evoke aged bronze, appears above a natural Gulf pearl and a hand-painted enamel dial. The steel minute ring uses Eastern Arabic numerals, which the brand describes as a cultural reference and a nod to the watch’s Dubai world premiere. Raúl Tena’s collection page credits Atelier Miniare with the enamel dial and Olivier Kuhn with the engraved sculpture.
The result is more than a decorative motif applied to a conventional dial. The diver and pearl give the watch its subject, while the enamel and engraved sculpture bring separate specialist crafts into the display. Tena describes the broader Art to Watch idea as a meeting of technical craft, artistic expression and collaboration with collectors.
How the unusual time display works
The Pearl Diver uses the hand-wound RT01.A movement, with a jumping hour and retrograde trailing minutes. The hour changes instantaneously rather than advancing gradually. Minutes are indicated along a scale; when the hand reaches the end, it returns to the beginning for the next cycle. Raúl Tena states a power reserve of more than 60 hours.

The brand’s craftsmanship page says the RT01 is developed and assembled by Télôs Watch SA in collaboration with Tena. These are manufacturer-published specifications, not independently reported performance-test results. Raúl Tena’s craftsmanship page outlines the movement’s development and assembly.

The collection page also mentions titanium, gold and platinum as possible materials for future Art to Watch 01 creations. Those materials are not confirmed case options for The Pearl Diver’s five-piece edition. The official collection listing is the source for the model specifications and edition information.

Who made the debut creation
Raúl Tena presents himself as a former aeronautical engineer turned independent creator. The official launch release says the project took more than five years to develop and identifies contributors including Olivier Kuhn, Atelier Miniare, Télôs workshops, Voutilainen & Cattin, Comblémine and Kari Voutilainen. Independent coverage places the debut at Dubai Watch Week 2025. In the release, Tena summed up his approach: “Engineering taught me precision; art taught me emotion. In my watches, the two coexist: one gives structure, the other gives meaning,” says Raúl Tena. The official Raúl Tena site presents the brand and its Art to Watch project.

The brand says subsequent Art to Watch creations may be developed individually with collectors. That bespoke direction is distinct from The Pearl Diver, which is described as a five-piece first edition. The published information does not establish a public price, whether any pieces remain, or how a buyer can purchase one. Interested readers should treat the official pages as descriptions of the project, not as confirmation of an active listing or sales channel.
