Buying a Raymond Weil watch makes the watch yours—not the company. The available sources describe Raymond Weil as a Geneva-based family business whose leadership has passed between members of the Weil and Bernheim families; they do not establish that customers own the business or disclose current ownership percentages.
What does “our personal property” mean here?
It works as a playful headline, not a statement of corporate ownership. A customer can own a watch and feel a personal connection to the name on its dial, but that does not confer shares, voting rights, or a stake in the watchmaker. The company’s own history presents Raymond Weil as an independent, Geneva-based family business. That is the company’s description; the available sources do not provide a current legal ownership breakdown.

How did the family business pass between generations?
Raymond Weil founded the Geneva watch company with his wife, Éliane, in 1976. The brand’s official history says the couple presented their first creations at the Basel fair. Later leadership involved Raymond Weil’s son-in-law, Olivier Bernheim, and grandson, Elie Bernheim.
| Year | Milestone |
|---|---|
| 1976 | Raymond and Éliane Weil establish the business and present early creations at the Basel fair, according to the company’s official history. Europa Star also dates the launch of the namesake brand to 1976. |
| 1982 | Olivier Bernheim, Raymond Weil’s son-in-law, joins the company. The official history says the two worked together for fourteen years. |
| 1996 | Europa Star reports that Olivier Bernheim became CEO. |
| 2006 | Elie Bernheim joins the business, according to Europa Star. The official history credits him with leading development of the Freelancer collection, unveiled in 2007. |
| 2014 | Elie Bernheim becomes CEO, the year his grandfather Raymond Weil dies, according to Europa Star. |
| April 2025 | Europa Star interviews Olivier and Elie Bernheim about succession, product strategy, and the challenges of running the business. |
The succession story is about leadership, not proof of who holds what equity. In the 2025 interview, Olivier Bernheim described the responsibility of joining a family company this way: “When you join a family business, you’re on the front line. You’re responsible for its future.”

What can a customer actually own?
A Raymond Weil watch is a real, purchasable product; the official site lists collections including Freelancer, Millesime, A.R.T., and Toccata. Choosing one gives the buyer a watch, not ownership of Raymond Weil’s company. The distinction matters because the family-business story can create a sense of closeness to the brand without changing the legal relationship between customer and company.
The 50th-anniversary watch
The company’s 2026 anniversary page presents Millesime The Fifty as a limited edition of 50 units. Its listing shows a price of CHF 8,650 and marks it sold out. Those are the page’s stated edition size, listed price, and availability status; they are not an independently checked resale value or a continuing offer.

How to read the brand’s price context
In Europa Star’s April 2025 interview, Elie Bernheim described Raymond Weil prices as around CHF 1,000 to CHF 4,000, with a core price around CHF 2,500. That is an attributed, dated interview statement, not a verified current price list. The separately listed anniversary watch sits outside that quoted range, and its page reports it sold out.

The record supports a story of continuity: the company was founded by Raymond Weil, Olivier Bernheim joined in 1982 and later became CEO, and Elie Bernheim joined in 2006 before taking the CEO role in 2014. The official history and Europa Star interview document those family connections and leadership milestones.

They do not show that customers have become owners, establish present-day shareholdings, or prove that the company’s legal ownership has transferred in any particular way. Raymond Weil’s own page calls the business independent and family-based, but that description should not be mistaken for a disclosed cap table.
Quick Recap
Best Value
- This new quartz model adopts a sophisticated art deco appeal with an elongated rectangular face and slim 6.25 mm case. This is our shallowest case design to date which gives a very sleek profile to this watch.
- The design is available in five variations that alternate either in two-tone, gold-tone and stainless steel. The face comes in combinations of black roman numerals on a crisp white dial or alternating gold & diamond indexes on a mother-of-pearl face.
- The sapphire crystal window is framed by a beveled rectangular case. The tiered design gives this watch an illusion of depth without the thickness. The watch is completed with our logo’s signature upon the crown.
- Unlike the classic round ladies’ toccata, this watch manages to nail a refined, retro aesthetic all the while remaining true to the Swiss craftsmanship and inspiration behind the collection.
- Following in the footsteps of the great composers, toccata promotes RAYMOND WEIL’s Swiss horology while respecting the tradition and heritage handed down from generation to generation within the family company.
