A dress watch with its own cuff rule
Raymond Weil describes the collaboration with seconde/seconde/—the label associated with designer Romaric André—as a playful “Simon Says” take on dress-watch rules. The dial’s instruction is deliberately literal: “Dress shirt cuff should cover at least half of the watch.” Rather than simply asking how a watch looks beneath a cuff, it makes the cuff part of the joke.
The anthracite dial divides into contrasting zones: one side is described as ghostly or concealing details, while the other catches sunray reflections and shows polished minute markers. Matte opaline and sunray finishes add to that contrast; yellow text and a vertically oriented “Swiss-made” inscription give the dial further visual quirks.
Raymond Weil’s US collaboration page attributes this framing to André: “Dress codes – the rules of elegance – are conventions worth knowing and respecting, but also ones we should never forget to play with. I therefore needed a distillation of this classic elegance, a pure ‘dress watch’ like the Toccata as my starting point. A sort of essential raw material for carrying out my project, which aims to gently tease the very idea of ‘proper etiquette.’”

The case back carries another intentionally comic instruction: “Never wind your watch while wearing it. Take it off first, then wind it in a dramatic fashion (ideally in the middle of a conversation).” This is the engraved joke, not a technical service recommendation.
Regional prices and availability
Raymond Weil’s European product page listed the 50-piece edition at €1,825 and displayed “Sold out” when checked. The US collaboration page listed $2,075. What to weigh before considering it
The watch’s appeal rests on the collision between a conventional dress-watch form and a dial that openly pokes fun at conventional etiquette. For a practical comparison with other dress watches, focus on the published case dimensions and thickness, manual-winding movement and stated reserve, water-resistance rating, dial legibility and design, strap, edition size, regional price, and verified availability. Those are useful comparison points, not evidence that this model outperforms another watch.
The listed 30 m / 3 atm rating is the manufacturer’s stated specification; it should not be read as a promise that the watch is suitable for swimming. No independent performance assessment or hands-on evaluation is established here.
