What is the Hommage “Sukoon Al-Layl”?
Roger Dubuis identifies the watch as Hommage “Sukoon Al-Layl,” reference RDDBHO0611, and describes it as a unique piece. The brand places it within Hommage, a collection it says began in 1995 as a tribute to watchmaking masters and friends who inspired Mr. Roger Dubuis’ high-horology vision. The watch was exclusively unveiled at Dubai Watch Week; independent coverage of its debut was published on November 21, 2025.
The name’s elements are translated by Fratello Watches as “serenity” (“Sukoon”) and “night” (“Al-Layl”). Roger Dubuis associates the piece with Arabic culture and calls its theme “The Spirit of Serenity.”
How is the dial constructed?
The dial’s visual depth comes from several materials and finishes rather than a single flat surface. Roger Dubuis describes a guilloché main plate with wave patterns and “Astral Blue” lacquer, framed by mother-of-pearl elements. The calendar and moonphase counters also use mother-of-pearl.

At the moonphase display, blue aventurine forms the disc, with curved 18k yellow-gold moons. The official description also identifies an aventurine disc with 750/1000 yellow-gold moons. Together, the layered construction, blue finish, iridescent nacre and gold details create the watch’s night-sky effect without requiring assumptions about a specific astronomical tradition.
What movement and complication does it use?
According to Manufacture Roger Dubuis’ launch announcement, the watch uses calibre RD1472. The manufacturer describes it as combining an upgraded RD14 calibre with the RD72 biretrograde perpetual-calendar module. A perpetual calendar tracks the date across months of differing lengths and accounts for leap years; “biretrograde” describes the calendar display architecture identified in the launch material. Independent launch coverage also describes the watch as having a biretrograde perpetual calendar.
