Seiko announced four Seiko 5 Sports 55th-anniversary watches in June 2023: the SRPK17, a limited-edition recreation of the first Seiko 5 Sports watch from 1968, and three SKX Sports Style models—SRPK09, SRPK11 and SRPK13—that pay tribute to the 1969 collection. The main practical difference is size: the SRPK17 has a 39.5 mm case, while the other three measure 42.5 mm.
Which Seiko 5 Sports watches are the 55th-anniversary models?
Seiko’s June 8, 2023 announcement named these four references:
- SRPK17: a limited-edition recreation of the first Seiko 5 Sports watch, introduced in 1968.
- SRPK09, SRPK11 and SRPK13: SKX Sports Style watches that pay tribute to designs and colors from Seiko’s 1969 collection.

What distinguishes the SRPK17?
The SRPK17 is the direct historical recreation in the group. Seiko designed its dial, bezel and 39.5 mm case to recall the original 1968 watch. It brings back the original Seiko 5 Sports logo at 12 o’clock and places “SPORTS” at 6 o’clock. Lumibrite is applied to the hands and bar indexes.
Seiko also describes a newly created bracelet with upgraded solid construction and a special box using the original logo and color scheme. The SRPK17 was limited to 15,555 pieces, according to the 2023 announcement.

What distinguishes the SRPK09, SRPK11 and SRPK13?
These three models use the larger SKX Sports Style case, with crown protectors, a unidirectionally rotating bezel and a three-link stainless-steel bracelet. Seiko describes the group as having silver, black, or orange-and-black dial treatments, with bezel inserts following designs from historical watches.
The announcement does not specify which of those color descriptions belongs to each reference, so the reference-to-color mapping should be confirmed from a current official product listing or retailer rather than inferred. Seiko’s release calls the SRPK17 limited edition but does not describe the other three as limited editions.

Shared movement and specifications
Seiko specified the same automatic Caliber 4R36 for all four watches. The announced movement specifications and shared features are:
- Automatic winding; 21,600 vibrations per hour and 24 jewels.
- 41-hour power reserve.
- Curved Hardlex crystal.
- 10 bar water resistance.
- Magnetic resistance of 4,800 A/m.
These are manufacturer specifications from the 2023 release, not independent test results.

Availability and what the 2023 prices mean now
Seiko originally scheduled the SRPK17 for July 2023 at Seiko Boutiques and select retail partners worldwide. It scheduled the three SKX Sports Style watches for September 2023 at select worldwide retail partners. Those dates describe the original rollout; they do not establish present-day stock.
Seiko’s Brazil-market 5 Sports lineup page still identifies the SRPK17 as the 55th-anniversary recreation of the first 5 Sports watch, but that listing does not establish availability at a local retailer or in other markets: Seiko 5 Sports lineup for Brazil. Which model is the clearest fit?
- Choose the SRPK17 as your starting point if the 1968 recreation, smaller published diameter, special presentation and limited-edition status are the features you want to compare.
- Compare the SRPK09, SRPK11 and SRPK13 if you prefer the larger 42.5 mm SKX Sports Style case and the 1969-inspired design direction. Confirm the exact dial and bezel treatment for the individual reference before choosing.
Those distinctions come from Seiko’s published design and case specifications. The announcement does not provide hands-on comparisons of comfort, accuracy or real-world durability.
