How the GMT hand works
The GMT hand tracks a second time zone using the watch’s 24-hour scale. Since it completes one rotation per day, its position distinguishes daytime from nighttime in that tracked zone. Redwood says the hand can be set independently; Mainspring Watch Magazine reports that on the NH34 it moves forward in one-hour steps. This is a caller-type GMT arrangement, rather than a jumping local-hour hand that is adjusted independently when changing time zones.
Is the Commando GMT actually affordable?
Its affordability cannot be judged without a verified current price for the Commando. Redwood’s surfaced homepage lists the Standard Issue Kilroy GMT at a starting price of $399 and labels it “RESTOCKING SOON”; that price and availability apply to the Kilroy, not the Commando. Redwood’s homepage
