Introduced in 2018, it was the first watch in Rexhep Rexhepi’s founder collection to carry his own signature. This guide covers the original model; the similarly styled RRCC II is a distinct successor with a different movement.
What is the Rexhep Rexhepi Chronomètre Contemporain?
The RRCC I marked a neo-classical direction alongside the more technically expressive designs of the Akrivia collection. Akrivia describes it as the first watch in Rexhep Rexhepi’s founder collection to bear his own signature. The model debuted in 2018 and received that year’s Men’s Watch Prize at the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève, according to Phillips’ 2023 interview and auction coverage (Phillips’ 2023 coverage).
Its round case combines a subtly concave, ovoid bezel with elongated, hand-soldered lugs that curve and bevel toward the wrist. The enamel dial brings together Roman numerals, alternating sector markings and a subsidiary seconds display at six o’clock. The result is classical in its vocabulary, while the maker presents the layout as a contemporary interpretation of traditional watchmaking (Rexhep Rexhepi’s official RRCC I page; Atelier Akrivia’s RRCC I page).
How do the platinum and rose-gold versions differ?
The dial and hand colors depend on the case metal; there is no single universal RRCC I colorway. The official model page specifies these pairings:

Both versions are supplied on a calf-skin leather strap, according to the official specifications.
What does the original RRCC I movement do?
The manually wound movement displays hours, minutes and seconds. Its hacking seconds stop when the crown is pulled to set the time, then return to zero, a feature the maker says helps synchronize the watch. The original has a single barrel and a published power reserve of 100 hours (Rexhep Rexhepi’s official RRCC I page).

What are the RRCC I’s dimensions and specifications?
The official RRCC I product page lists a 38 mm case diameter and 9.50 mm thickness. It specifies 5N rose gold or Pt950 platinum, sapphire crystal on the front and back, and water resistance of 3 ATM / 30 metres. The maker describes the movement’s finishing as including anglage, black polish, Côtes de Genève, inward angles, manual circular graining and hand engraving, and says the work takes months of intensive labour. That finishing description is the manufacturer’s account, not an independent inspection (official RRCC I specifications and description).
How is the RRCC I different from the RRCC II?
The RRCC II, introduced in 2022, retains a related enamel-dial appearance but is a different watch with a new movement construction. Mixing its specifications with those of the original leads to a misleading description.

The RRCC II figures are successor-model details, not revised specifications for the RRCC I (Atelier Akrivia’s RRCC II page; Hodinkee’s 2022 RRCC II coverage).
What certification and warranty does Atelier Akrivia describe?
Atelier Akrivia’s RRCC I page states a three-year warranty and says clients may request Besançon Observatory chronometer certification for an additional cost. It describes testing of the complete watch for 16 consecutive days and delivery with a “Bulletin de marche de chronométrie.” These are the terms described on that page; they do not establish current availability or confirm that a particular pre-owned watch underwent the test (Atelier Akrivia’s RRCC I page).

What do the published RRCC01 auction results tell buyers?
Phillips reported that the first RRCC01 to appear at public auction sold for HKD 7,239,000 in May 2023. A separate Phillips Hong Kong Watch Auction XVII lot page records an RRCC01 in 18K pink gold, circa 2019, reference RRCC01, measuring 38 mm and fitted with a manual RR-01 caliber with 19 jewels, sold for HKD 6,985,000. These are individual historical auction outcomes, not retail prices, a market average or current valuation advice (Phillips’ 2023 coverage).
For a specific watch, assess the generation, case metal and matching dial configuration, condition, documentation and provenance. Auction records establish the details of their own lots; they do not establish the condition or history of another example. Current new-watch price, production status and availability are not stated on the cited official pages.
