When did Roger Dubuis launch La Monégasque?
Richemont’s 2011 annual report says Roger Dubuis introduced La Monégasque at the Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie (SIHH). The brand’s official history also dates the collection to 2011.
The later Monaco celebration took place on October 20, 2011, at Hôtel de Paris. A press release republished by WorldTempus on October 21 describes the gathering as a return to the Monte Carlo atmosphere behind the collection. That framing is the brand’s promotional description, not an independent design assessment. The release reported more than 200 guests; that attendance figure was not independently audited.
What is the Monégasque collection?
Roger Dubuis describes La Monégasque as drawing on “a casino aesthetic and the spirit of taking risks.” The brand also calls it the maison’s one and only cushion case. Those are the manufacturer’s own retrospective characterizations of the design.

In its 2011 report, Richemont called the watches “assertive yet elegant” and said the collection’s mechanical movements bore the Poinçon de Genève. The report noted that some models included the RD680 chronograph calibre. One example it identified was a pink-gold automatic chronograph with a self-winding RD680 and micro-rotor.
Which models were presented at the Monaco event?
Contemporary coverage described two limited editions presented at the October celebration: the Monégasque Club and the Monégasque Flying Tourbillon. Their reported specifications offer a snapshot of the collection’s contrasting materials and complications.

The records concern particular references; they do not establish that every watch in the collection shared those specifications.

The reported editions paired the collection’s cushion-case identity with distinct complications and materials. The Club was presented in pink gold, while the Flying Tourbillon used platinum; the latter added a flying tourbillon alongside a big date and power-reserve display. The separate chronograph example shows how the RD680 fitted into the line. Together, these models illustrate the range reported at launch without implying that every reference had the same movement or features.
