The all-steel Rolex Datejust 41 associated with the 2017 launch is reference 126300: it has an Oystersteel case and bracelet with a smooth Oystersteel bezel. Reference 126334 is related, but it is not all steel: its fluted bezel is 18 ct white gold, making it a White Rolesor watch. That reference distinction is the key to identifying what “Datejust 41 in steel” means.
Which Datejust 41 is the all-steel 2017 model?
Reference 126300 is the clearest match. Contemporaneous 2017 coverage describes the steel Datejust 41 references 126300 and 126334, while Rolex’s current product listing identifies the 126300 as Oystersteel with a smooth bezel. Rolex explains that it uses Oystersteel for its steel watch cases; that is current brand information, not a dated 2017 specification sheet. The figures in both rows are Rolex’s current published specifications, not a claim that every detail matches a complete 2017 specification sheet. Check Rolex’s current 126334 listing for the White Rolesor description. The fluted bezel is a useful visible clue, but the material distinction—not appearance alone—makes the 126334 different from the all-Oystersteel 126300.
What Rolex currently specifies for the 126300
Rolex’s present US-facing 126300 page lists a 41 mm Oystersteel case, sapphire crystal with a Cyclops date lens, Twinlock winding crown, and water resistance to 100 metres (330 feet). It specifies calibre 3235, automatic winding, instantaneous date, stop-seconds, and approximately 70 hours of power reserve. These are current listing details; they should not be retroactively presented as a separately verified record of the watch’s original 2017 specification.

How to assess a 2017 example
When comparing a particular watch, start with the reference and then verify its actual configuration and condition. Dial and bracelet combinations can vary, and the available evidence does not establish every combination offered in 2017; check the dated example rather than assuming a configuration from the reference alone.
- Confirm whether the reference is 126300 or 126334. The latter has a white-gold fluted bezel and is not an all-steel watch.
- Inspect the dial, bracelet, and overall condition on the specific watch being offered. Do not treat a general model description as proof of a particular configuration.
- Compare prices only among watches with the same reference and relevant configuration, and account for market and date. A current Rolex list price is not a 2017 price.
- For a purchase or service route, Rolex says only official Rolex jewelers are allowed to sell and maintain Rolex watches. Its official retailer guidance can help identify them; that guidance does not authenticate an unrelated seller or listing.
What the historical price reports do—and do not—show

Because reference, configuration, market, and date affect what a price means, do not use that figure as the 126300’s 2017 price or substitute today’s Rolex listing price for historical context.
