Yes. Rolex currently lists the platinum Day-Date 40, reference 228236, with a fluted platinum bezel. The 40 mm watch also pairs a platinum Oyster case with a platinum President bracelet. Rolex’s US page showed $68,800 for the ice-blue-dial configuration on October 7, 2026; that listing price does not confirm stock or apply automatically to other dial versions.
What the platinum Day-Date 40 includes
Rolex identifies reference 228236 as an Oyster, 40 mm, in platinum. Its listed configuration includes a fluted platinum bezel, a Twinlock screw-down crown, and a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal with a Cyclops lens over the date. The President bracelet is also platinum and closes with a concealed folding Crownclasp. Rolex’s US product page lists calibre 3255, an approximately 70-hour power reserve, and water resistance of 100 m (330 ft). Rolex states accuracy of −2/+2 seconds per day after casing.
Dial options vary by configuration
Rolex’s pages for reference 228236 show several dial treatments, including ice blue, white, slate, blue ombré, and meteorite. The ice-blue dial is described by Rolex as an exclusive signature of its platinum watches; the meteorite version is described as a diamond-set meteorite dial. Check the individual configuration rather than assuming every dial has the same features or price. The ice-blue listing and the meteorite listing are examples.
Why the bezel is fluted
Rolex says the fluting originally helped secure the bezel to the case and support waterproofness, in parallel with the fluted case back. The brand explains that the detail later became an aesthetic feature and a Rolex signature. In its product description, Rolex calls it “a mark of distinction, in platinum on this Day-Date 40.” This is the manufacturer’s account of the design’s history, not independent evidence that the bezel gives this model greater water resistance than another watch.

On October 7, 2026, Rolex’s US page displayed $68,800 USD for the ice-blue-dial reference 228236. Treat that as the page’s listed price for that configuration at that time—not as a price for every dial, a guarantee of local stock, or a secondary-market value. For current local availability and servicing, contact an official Rolex jeweler. Rolex states that only official Rolex jewelers are allowed to sell and maintain its watches.
