It retains the green-and-black bezel and GMT function. Collectors often call it the “Sprite,” but that is an informal nickname, not Rolex’s model name.
What makes the 126720VTNR different?
Rolex introduced the reference in 2022. Its Oystersteel case keeps the familiar GMT-Master II shape, but the crown and crown guard are on the left, with the date aperture and Cyclops lens moved to 9 o’clock as well. The dial is black, and the two-colour Cerachrom bezel is green and black. Rolex’s US product page identifies it formally as the GMT-Master II 126720VTNR.
“Sprite” refers informally to the bezel colors; it is not an official Rolex designation. The left-side layout is commonly described as a left-handed configuration, but the official product description establishes the placement, not that every left-handed wearer will prefer it. Wristcheck’s reference coverage notes the 2022 debut and nickname.
How the GMT function works
The arrow-tipped 24-hour hand tracks a reference time against the bidirectional 24-hour bezel. The local-hour hand can be moved forward or backward in one-hour jumps using the crown without stopping or changing the minute and seconds hands. That lets a traveler adjust the displayed local hour while keeping the reference time visible.

Rolex says, “Only official Rolex jewelers are allowed to sell and maintain a Rolex watch.” That is the relevant distinction when comparing Rolex’s listed prices with third-party offers: a marketplace listing is not, by itself, an official Rolex sale.

WatchCharts’ page for the reference displays listings, but listing prices are sellers’ asking prices, not confirmed completed-sale prices. They can vary with seller, geography, condition, completeness and bracelet. Without reliable sold-transaction data, a single figure should not be presented as the watch’s market value.
