Rolex GMT-Master II: Two-Tone Yellow Rolesor and Yellow Gold Return in 2023

The GMT-Master II’s yellow-gold return happened in 2023: Rolex introduced grey-and-black bezel models in both Yellow Rolesor and solid 18 ct yellow gold. Here’s what distinguishes the two-tone 126713GRNR.

The “return” of yellow gold to the Rolex GMT-Master II refers to the models Rolex introduced in 2023—not a new 2026 launch. That year, Rolex added a grey-and-black Cerachrom bezel to a two-tone Yellow Rolesor version and to a separate GMT-Master II crafted in solid 18 ct yellow gold. The current catalogue continues to include both material choices.

Which two-tone Rolex GMT-Master II is this?

The current two-tone model that fits the description is reference 126713GRNR. Rolex describes it as an Oyster 40 mm GMT-Master II in Yellow Rolesor, its combination of Oystersteel and yellow gold. It has a black dial, a grey-and-black Cerachrom bezel and a five-piece-link Jubilee bracelet. Rolex’s catalogue was checked on October 7, 2026; listings and availability can change.

When did yellow gold return to the GMT-Master II?

Rolex’s model history dates the grey-and-black two-colour bezel’s debut to 2023, when it appeared on both Yellow Rolesor and solid 18 ct yellow gold GMT-Master II models. That is the supported date behind the “returns” framing. The history establishes the sequence of bezel and metal releases, but does not quantify how long yellow gold had been absent.

The surrounding releases help distinguish the 2023 models from later updates:

What does Yellow Rolesor mean?

Yellow Rolesor combines Oystersteel and yellow gold; it is not an all-gold watch. Reference 126713GRNR pairs those materials in the case and bracelet. The separate 2023 yellow-gold version is crafted in solid 18 ct yellow gold. Rolex currently lists both material configurations in its GMT-Master II collection.

They are distinct material choices, not a stated quality ranking. For a like-for-like decision, compare the specific watch’s case and bracelet materials, bezel and dial, and bracelet style. The 126713GRNR has a Jubilee bracelet; other GMT-Master II versions use Oyster bracelets. Rolex’s specifications do not establish which option is more comfortable, durable in everyday use, desirable or better value.

Can a GMT-Master II show two time zones at once?

Yes. On reference 126713GRNR, the dedicated 24-hour hand and bidirectional 24-hour bezel can indicate a second time zone, while the conventional hour hand shows local time. Rolex says the local hour hand can be adjusted independently, without affecting the minute and seconds hands. That lets a traveller change local time while retaining the reference-time reading.
