That is one person’s fit impression, not a rule for every wrist. The reference is a no-date steel Oyster Perpetual; a particular pre-owned example’s configuration and condition still need checking.
What is the Rolex Oyster Perpetual 116000?
A Bucherer Rolex Certified Pre-Owned listing identifies its example as an Oyster Perpetual 36, reference 116000, with a 36 mm steel case, sapphire glass, automatic calibre 3130, silver dial without a date, and steel bracelet. Those details describe that listed watch, not every dial option or the condition and accessories of every 116000.

The current Rolex Oyster Perpetual collection page describes the contemporary 36 mm model with calibre 3230. That is a different generation: the current movement specification should not be attributed to the earlier 116000. Rolex’s current collection page also gives a 100 m water-resistance rating, but that collection-level statement does not establish the period rating for this specific reference.

In the post titled “[Rolex OP 116000] Two Weeks In,” the author says they had been wearing the watch for about two weeks straight and that their other watches were getting little wrist time. They also describe having hesitated over the 36 mm size, wondering whether it would look or feel too small, before concluding: “The proportions just work.”

That answers the size question only for this wearer: they began uncertain and came to like the proportions. It is not a controlled fit test or evidence that the watch will suit every wrist. The author also mentioned an 8-inch wrist measurement, but commenters challenged it; it should not be treated as a verified measurement or sizing benchmark.
What can a buyer infer—and what remains individual?
The size question
The account is useful as a real wearer’s first impression, but it cannot predict how the 36 mm case will look or feel on someone else. If possible, try the specific watch on wrist; wrist shape, personal preference, and the way a bracelet is sized all affect the impression.

No date means no date
The listed 116000 has no date display. A separate owner, writing after six weeks in a January 2009 forum post, counted the lack of a date among the drawbacks. That is an individual preference, but it is a practical point to weigh if you routinely rely on a date window.

The 2009 owner also discussed lume and reported timekeeping observations under particular setting and storage conditions. - Seller, return terms, and service history: Review the seller’s status, return policy, and any available service records before purchase.
- Guarantee terms: Read the actual guarantee for the transaction, including its duration, geographic scope, and what it covers.
Bucherer’s cited page described its particular watch as Rolex Certified Pre-Owned, authenticated by experts, and supplied with a two-year international guarantee card. The page said that guarantee confirms the watch is genuine on the purchase date and guarantees proper functioning for two years from that date. These are terms stated for that retailer’s offer; confirm current terms for the specific watch you are considering.
The page showed the watch as available for $9,000 when accessed in 2026. That is a single listing’s asking price at that time, not a market average, fair-value estimate, or assurance of current availability.
