Rolex’s 1 April 2025 Watches and Wonders announcement introduced the Oyster Perpetual Land-Dweller, a new collection featuring calibre 7135, the Dynapulse escapement and a Flat Jubilee bracelet. Rolex also updated established collections with new colors, dials and material or bracelet configurations. The available research confirms the releases, but does not verify the specific pre-show predictions needed for an itemized hit-or-miss scorecard.
What Rolex announced in 2025
Rolex dated its 2025 new-watches announcement to 1 April at Watches and Wonders Geneva. The release slate combined a new collection with updates to familiar watch families—not a wholesale new generation for each collection.
| Collection | Confirmed 2025 announcement |
|---|---|
| Oyster Perpetual Land-Dweller | A new collection with calibre 7135, a 5 Hz frequency, Dynapulse escapement, honeycomb-motif dial and Flat Jubilee bracelet. |
| GMT-Master II | A left-crown 18 ct white-gold configuration with a green ceramic dial and green-and-black Cerachrom bezel. |
| Oyster Perpetual | Lavender, sandy beige and pistachio-green dial colors. |
| Perpetual 1908 | An 18 ct yellow-gold version with a matching seven-piece-link bracelet. |
| Datejust 31 | A red ombré dial with diamond details on the bezel and dial. |
| Cosmograph Daytona, GMT-Master II and Sky-Dweller | New dial configurations, including a tiger-iron GMT-Master II dial and a bright-green Sky-Dweller dial. |
The headline: Oyster Perpetual Land-Dweller
Rolex presented the Land-Dweller as a new collection and the clearest technical headline of the announcement. Its calibre 7135 operates at 5 Hz and uses Rolex’s Dynapulse escapement. The collection also introduced a honeycomb-motif dial and the Flat Jubilee bracelet, whose design flows into the Oyster case.
Rolex reported that 32 patent applications and patents pertained to the Land-Dweller, with 18 exclusive to the watch. This is Rolex’s own launch figure, not an independently audited count. The combination of a new collection, movement and bracelet makes the Land-Dweller a more substantial change than a dial-only update.

Updates to established Rolex families
GMT-Master II
Rolex announced an 18 ct white-gold GMT-Master II with its first high-technology ceramic dial. The green dial is paired with the green daytime half of a green-and-black Cerachrom bezel. The winding crown is on the left and the date aperture is at 9 o’clock. The watch is powered by calibre 3285. “Sprite” is an informal collector nickname, not the official model description.
Oyster Perpetual
The 2025 announcement added lavender, sandy beige and pistachio-green dial colors to the Oyster Perpetual range. The evidence supports describing these as dial and color updates, not as a new generation.

Perpetual 1908 and Datejust 31
The Perpetual 1908 appeared in 18 ct yellow gold with a matching seven-piece-link bracelet. The Datejust 31 received a red ombré dial and diamond details. These are confirmed configurations; the announcement does not make either a new collection.
Daytona, GMT-Master II and Sky-Dweller dials
Rolex also announced new dial configurations for the Cosmograph Daytona, GMT-Master II and Sky-Dweller. Its new-dials announcement discusses a tiger-iron GMT-Master II dial and a bright-green Sky-Dweller dial. The listed model-line calibres are 4131 for the Daytona, 3285 for the GMT-Master II and 9002 for the Sky-Dweller; these do not establish that every dial variant received a new movement.
What can—and cannot—be said about the predictions
Prediction content appeared before the announcement: a video titled “2025 ROLEX PREDICTIONS at Watches and Wonders” was published on 21 March 2025. The available research summary confirms that it presented predictions, but does not identify the individual forecasts. Without reviewing the original forecasts, it would be misleading to label particular rumored watches as correct, incorrect or partial hits.
The confirmed outcomes can still be compared by what Rolex actually changed:
Rank #4
| Comparison point | Confirmed outcome |
|---|---|
| New collection or existing-line update? | The Land-Dweller was presented as a new collection; the other listed announcements update established families. |
| Technical novelty | The Land-Dweller introduced calibre 7135 and the Dynapulse escapement. |
| Material, bracelet or dial changes | The announcement included a white-gold GMT-Master II, a yellow-gold 1908 with a matching bracelet, new dial colors and other dial configurations. |
| Can individual rumors be scored? | Not from the available prediction summary; the original forecast must be checked first. |
How to assess a Rolex prediction
To judge a forecast fairly, compare its specific claims with the official release rather than treating any new watch in the same collection as a hit. Check the forecast’s source and date, then compare the collection, movement or technical feature, case metal and bracelet, and dial or bezel. A broad prediction about a collection is not equivalent to a precise prediction about a particular configuration.
- Find the original forecast and confirm what it actually said before the announcement.
- Separate confirmed Rolex announcements from rumors, mockups and collector speculation.
- Compare the forecast’s specific attributes with Rolex’s official product description.
- Call a result a match only when the important predicted details align; otherwise describe the difference precisely.
