These are manufacturer specifications and regional listings, not results from an independent comparative test. Rolex’s specification and US price are on its official Submariner Date 126610LN page; OMEGA’s specifications and Japan-region price are on its official Seamaster Diver 300M page.
Which one is likely to fit your wrist better?
The OMEGA’s listed case diameter is 42 mm, one millimetre larger than the Rolex’s 41 mm. That difference alone cannot tell you which watch will look or feel smaller. Case shape and proportions affect how a watch sits, and the available specifications do not establish a direct wrist-fit comparison.
If possible, try each exact reference on your wrist. Compare how the case sits, whether it catches on a cuff, and how the bracelet feels when adjusted. Wrist circumference can help narrow a search, but it cannot replace trying the watches on: comfort is personal, and no hands-on comparison is established here.

Movement, running time and certification
Rolex: longer stated power reserve and a precision figure
Rolex lists its automatic calibre 3235 with approximately 70 hours of power reserve and a precision target of -2/+2 seconds per day after casing. The power-reserve figure describes the stated running time when the watch is fully wound; it is not a promise that every individual watch will keep exactly the same time in every condition.
OMEGA: METAS certification and magnetic resistance
OMEGA lists the automatic calibre 8800 with a 55-hour power reserve and METAS Master Chronometer certification. Its Japan-region product page also reports resistance to magnetic fields above 15,000 gauss. These are useful specifications if certification and magnetic resistance matter to you, but they do not establish a measured accuracy advantage over this specific Rolex.
The figures answer different questions: Rolex publishes a post-casing precision range and a longer approximate reserve; OMEGA highlights certification and a magnetic-resistance threshold alongside its reserve. They are not, by themselves, a verdict on overall quality or suitability.
Water resistance and dive-timing bezels
Both manufacturers state water resistance of 300 metres for these exact date models. That shared rating does not establish a difference in real-world diving performance.
Rolex specifies a black ceramic Cerachrom unidirectional bezel with 60-minute graduations. It says the graduations allow a diver to monitor diving time and decompression stops. The available OMEGA reference details do not establish its bezel operation here, so compare the exact regional model page or handle the watch in person if bezel feel and use are important to your decision.

The displayed Rolex price was $11,350 USD on the US product page, while OMEGA’s Japan-region page displayed ¥1,056,000. These are prices from different markets and currencies, so they are not a like-for-like retail comparison; the figures may also change. Check the official listing for your country and confirm the current price and availability with a local retailer before deciding.
Both references are real products and can be used as exact-model search terms. The official listings cited here do not confirm Amazon availability, seller authorization, or any retailer’s affiliate status. For a high-value purchase, verify the reference number, seller, warranty terms and return policy rather than relying on a broad search result.
How to choose between the Submariner and Seamaster
- Lean toward the Submariner if you prefer its 41 mm case, black bezel design, approximately 70-hour stated reserve, or the published -2/+2 seconds-per-day precision specification.
- Lean toward the Seamaster if you prefer its 42 mm proportions or place particular value on METAS Master Chronometer certification and the stated resistance to magnetic fields above 15,000 gauss.
- Make fit and cost decisive if neither movement profile clearly matters more to you. Try both on and compare current official prices in the same market; the listed US Rolex and Japan OMEGA prices cannot settle the local value question.
- Check support before buying by asking an authorized local service provider about service access, expected process and warranty coverage for the exact reference. The cited specifications do not establish comparative service cost or availability.
There is no evidence here to rank one as universally better, more comfortable, or stronger in resale value. Choose the model that fits your wrist and priorities, and verify the price and service arrangements where you live.
